The New Brunswick Multicultural Council is partnering with All In - a human-centred design agency - to better understand the experiences of Newcomers applying for and maintaining Medicare coverage. We are looking to speak with Newcomers from the following immigration streams: Temporary Work Permit Holders, Permanent Residents (Provincial Nominee Program), Refugees (Government and Private Sponsored). NBMC understands that this continues to be an issue around the world and achieving true equality cannot be fulfilled without putting an end to violence against... all women. #GenerationEquality --- Aujourd'hui est la Journée internationale pour l'élimination de la violence à l'égard des femmes. 1 femme sur 3 dans le monde a subi des violences physiques et/ou sexuelles à un moment donné dans sa vie, le plus souvent de la part d’un partenaire intime. Partout dans le monde, le confinement à domicile et l’isolement social résultant de la pandémie de COVID-19, combinés à une insécurité économique généralisée et à la perte des moyens de subsistance, ont engendré de nouveaux risques pour les femmes et les filles en ce qui concerne l’exposition à la violence. Le CMNB comprend que cela continue d'être un problème dans le monde entier et que la réalisation de l’égalité ne peut être réalisée sans mettre fin à la violence à l'égard des femmes. #GénérationÉgalité

Last weekend Imagine NB started it’s first socially distanced in-person leadership retreat in Fredericton with our Anglophone school students! The agenda for the weekend was powerful and packed! It included highlights such as dialogues about privilege, micro aggressions and how to be agent of change in calling out racism with Black Lives Matter Fredericton founder Husoni Raymond. They Met with Jenica Atwin, Member of Parliament for Fredericton to share their experiences and thoughts on youth empowerment and tackled community projects such as: the Environment and Climate Change, Homelessness, Education Advocacy, Women Empowerment, and Culturally Diverse Communities.
