I am now open! Unfortunately, due to CoVid, I was unable to complete the board exams for registration. I am hoping to have this done soon. Massage treatments are not able to be claimed by your insurance carrier at this time. However, the price for a 1-hour treatment will still remain at only $65.00 until registration occurs when prices will increase to standard RMT rates/hr. There are new protocols in place for your safety and the safety of others prior to treatment, you will now be required to wear a mask from your vehicle to the treatment room. Hours have changed and are now Mon-Wed, 7:30am-7pm. Thank you for your understanding. To book directly, click the link below: https://murrayvillemassagecentre.janeapp.com//murray/book

*KNEE MOBILITY* . . . What are we doing here?... . This is a basic open kinetic chain exercise, with easily modified range and resistance variables. The goal is to use the pull-up band to challenge end range of knee flexion, and then to challenge knee extension resistance in extension. . We can think of it as a self applied joint mobilization with muscle energy technique for early stage rehab, and as we up the resistance we can think of it as strength training to progress to closed kinetic chain capacity. . Why do this? . Its often a challenge for patients to work on their rehab in a similar manner to their clinical experience. Pull-up #resistancebands are inexpensive (this set of 4 cost me about $35) and this exercise can be done on the floor, or in bed. Its easy to setup, cheap, accessible, and clinically and physically meaningful. The bands weigh very little and travel well. . In terms of categorical challenge to work done: Range - we can challenge to end range, do range challenge can be high but is modifiable Resistance - we have high variability Rate - by lifting the foot we can greatly increase rate demands on deceleration Ultimately this is an #openkineticchain exercise that easily progresses to a #closedkineticchain one. . When would I use an exercise like this? . This can be useful in any situation where light load is safe and goals include increases in range/resistance capacity at the knee. Just load slowly and respect your body . . . #kneeassessment #kneepain #kneemobility #aclrecovery #parkour #parkourathlete #traceur #kneehealth #pain #mobility #movementculture #resistancebandsworkout #postoprecovery #aclrehab #kneerecovery #sissysquats #perturbation #kneecontrol #sportspecifictraining #sportspecificrehab #massageassessment #massagetherapy #sportsinjury #sportsinjurytherapy #patellartendonitis #jumpersknee #kneestrengthening See more
Low back pain ...
*ANKLE TWISTERS* . . . What am I doing?... . Im applying a consistent lateral force through my foot as I explore an ankle and knee scour.. Basically Im engaging my intrinsic foot and ankle muscles, while at the same allowing movement through the rest of the kinetic chain. . In terms of a 3-R approach, theres actually a lot going on: -Im challenging my ankle range with a scouring movement, my knee range though rotation and valgus/varus. -Im challenging resistance through the everters and inverters of the foot/ankle, as well as rate changes at my knee. . Why am I doing this? This is a simple strengthening exercise I can use for both treatment and self assessment. . Treatment: For patients experiencing pain in the lower limb associated with medial knee stress, and ankle dorsiflexion/eversion, this can be a great exercise to gradually decrease discomfort. For patients recovering from #fractrues , #dislocations or other traumas such as #aclsurgery , this is a very simple and safe exercise to gradually build tolerance. . Assessment: My left ankle has been really problematic since my last break. I can use this exercise as a way to explore my limits in #dorsiflexion and #eversion tolerance, and use that as a boundary to respect in my training and rehab for that session. . What am I looking for? . A simple answer is a smooth movement, but thats myopic. Ultimately Im looking for a feeling of security through the full movement, as well as full control. It IS noteworthy to look for patterns where Im favoring, and asymmetry can be indicative of something worth further exploration. . . . #kneepain #kneerehab #plantarfasciitis #shinsplints #tibialisposterior #aclinjury #groinrehab #isometric #strengthtraining #lowbackpainrelief #lowbackpain #hippain #adductorstrain #massageassessment #massagetherapy #exercisebasedrehab #EDS #ehlersdanlos #keeplearning #evidencebasedpractice #movementculture #movementexploration #meniscusrehab #meniscustear See more

In this edition of Massage Monday, we attempt to get our minds right. If not us, who? If not now, when? What steps are you taking to improve your own critical t...hinking skills? This week I will introduce some simple concepts that will help you think openly, hone your focus, communicate honestly, and be more generative, effective and fair in how you make your mind known and judge others thoughts. We are worthy of this level of thinking and clarity, and so are our clients. Essentially, CRITICAL thinking enables us to excel in CLINICAL thinking, and goodness knows that is a lifelong learning process and skill. So, lets level up! How are you getting there, and what would aid you most in advancing? We can use our hive mind to our advantage by brainstorming solutions. In massage therapy, the system-wide lack of critical thinking skills results in both institutional support for outdated modalities, theories or belief systems, and pressure from industry members to add pseudoscientific modalities that lack an evidence or science base to expand the scope of practice. Students and graduates end up holding the same outdated or incorrect beliefs as the institutions and consider them justified because they are supported by educational networks, professional registration designations, and professional associations. With many thanks to Massage & Fitness Magazine and Monica Noij for continually raising the bar with clarity and urgency.
A simple demo of an interosseous release of the forearm. Are we really releasing the interosseous membrane? Oh hell no. Do still chart it like that? Yes. Its what I was taught to call it, and thats as good of a concise name as any.
Our open house was a success ! Thank you so much to everyone who came. Congratulations to our two grand prize winners Sadie Nordhus and Brea Gunson and our door prize winner Jeniene Lutz! We Will be in contact with you guys. @ regen AESTHETICS

Mark Olson knocks it out of the park in this article he wrote for the best publication in the biz. What does massage actually DO to relieve pain? The answer is ...far less, and far more than you may realize. Evidence you can bet (and base!) your practice on.
