Leading from the front: In the summer of 2019 I managed to travel to Zimbabwe on a working visit to monitor the work of the Collin Nyabadza Childrens Voice Char...itable Trust (CNCVCT). It was an important and exciting trip that helped me connect with my dedicated team, together with the children, teachers and parents in the schools that we support. I believe in leading from the front. I have prepared this presentation which I’m sharing with you. Many thanks to Swift Current resident Amy Holderbein who helped put this together! Many thanks to all of you who continue to support the work of the CNCVCT!! See more

AS first term drew to a close, children at six primary schools, four from Matobo Rural District and two located just outside Bulawayo had an extra reason to be excited. The reason being the Australian Government donation of classroom furniture valued at US$20000. The assistance came after the Australians had been approached for help by the Collin Nyabadza Children’s Voice Charitable Trust (CNCVCT).

Furniture project update: Late last year we received a USD20 000 grant from the Australian Government for us to purchase classroom furniture for six disadvantaged rural primary schools in Matobo Rural District. Actually, four schools in Matobo will benefit while the other two are just outside Bulawayo, that is Hope Fountain and Mguza SDA Primary Schools.... However, our grant arrived at the same time when there was some civil unrest in Zimbabwe. This therefore delayed our otherwise noble project. We have however been working behind the scenes with the Australian Government and our official suppliers to ensure the implementation of the project. Our supplier started delivering the new furniture yesterday. The first call was Mguza Primary School. Schools in Zimbabwe are closing in a weeks time for the first semester. This will give the children and their teachers a welcome closing gift!! Best Regards Mr. C. Nyabadza CEO - CNCVCT Our Motto: No Child Shall Be Put Down By Poverty

AS the Collin Nyabadza Children’s Voice Charitable Trust (CNCVCT), we are pleased to announce that the $20000 furniture project we have been working on since December 2018 will be completed before February. Thanks to a donation of USD20 000 grant from the Australian Government. The project is part of our ongoing commitment to creating an enabling environment for rural pupils to learn and realize their full potential. We are going to furniture six disadvantaged primary schools... in Matobo and UMguza District benefiting over 4000 pupils. We are expecting our supplier to deliver furniture batches to some of the schools anytime this week. The schools benefiting from the consignment, four in Matobo Rural District are Mbuso, Guardian Angel, Tjewondo and St. Anna primary schools. The other two in UMguza are Seventh Day Adventist and Hope Fountain primary Schools. We are grateful to our sponsor for their support and trust, this is the second time in two years the Australians are helping us. In 2017 they donated USD14 100 which we used to furnish five primary schools in Bubi District. They were impressed with the way we carried out the project, overall aims, objectives and our modus operandi. All of our projects are designed according to schools’ needs and letters of assistance we often receive from schools. In other cases, school-heads directly approach us for help and sometimes we identify schools through our partners who have the experience in living and working as educators in certain schools with abject conditions. As we speak, we have a compilation of several schools on the waiting list. Some schools do not have adequate furniture while some have dilapidated infrastructure. We therefore appeal to various funding and corporate bodies for support to reach out to these schools with provisions of furniture, building of classrooms, sports equipment and sanitary wear and other educational materials as we run various projects simultaneously. In 2017, we pioneered a project that was funded by the Calgary South Rotary Club in Alberta, Canada. They gave us CAD5 400 grant to purchase high quality classroom furniture for three disadvantaged primary schools in Matobo District. These schools included Lingwe, Marinoha and Zamanyoni Primary Schools. As schools opened today in Zimbabwe, we would like to wish all the best to all school children. We trust that In as much as schools have opened, there are various schools in ...bad state especially those located in rural areas. Some children cannot afford to go to schools, or the schools don’t have proper infrastructure for a better learning environment. As an organisation, we have ongoing initiatives to support some of the disadvantaged schools in Zimbabwe. These initiatives include construction of classroom blocks, donation of textbooks, sports kits and many more. Your involvement can go a long way in keeping these children in school, creating a safe learning environment and ensuring they receive quality education. Get in touch with us and help make a difference in someone’s life. https://cncvct.blogspot.com/2019/01/get-involved.html

In May 2018 we collaborated with two British charities to donate 50 000 books to a total of 42 primary and secondary schools and two local universities. We approached Books Abroad, a Scottish based charity for help with books. They responded positively and began mobilizing the books across the U.K. The Scottish charity also mobilized the funds for shipping. Another U.K. based charity Sands of Faith Child Foundation then came on board and provided a grant of 3 000 to help towards shipping. Follow the link!

At the CNCVCT, we strongly feel every child should be given an opportunity to exploit their academic and sporting potentials to the fullest regardless of their parents social-economic status. Poverty should never be a barrier!
