Staff Spotlight Alert! Jennifer Mountney is an Intervention Specialist with DBCS, and has been described by both her peers and clients as a natural intervenor who always goes above and beyond. During the beginning of the pandemic, Jennifer went out of her way to organize and host American Sign Language (ASL) drop-in sessions for staff. These sessions allowed staff to practice and even improve their skills.... Jennifer’s professionalism, positivity and creative thinking has been a shining light for everyone in the DBCS community. Thank you, Jennifer! #ThankYouDBCS [Image Description: The text, Staff Spotlight: Jennifer Mountney, DBCS Intervenor. From Today Show - Deaf people are being left out of the conversation during COVID-19 pandemic "Masks are a challenge: It is impossible to lip-read when someone is wearing one. (Clear masks may be one solution, although they're not perfect.) From WOOD TV8 - How one deaf/blind adventurer is changing lives By doing these adventures and the focus being others and then making other people more confident and stronger and realizing what’s within them is stronger than what’s in their way- that’s a gift that you give to someone that actually could change their life. The biggest message society can send us, whether we send it to ourselves or everyone around us is that this physical challenge that you may have is game over and it’s not. It’s really a game changer in your life." - Bill Barkeley https://www.woodtv.com//community-conversation-how-one-de/
