"Roses are red, violets are blue, nurses are awesome, they save people like me and you! In all seriousness, I love and support all nursing students for stepping up and choosing to become frontline workers during such a trying time. The bravery and selflessness truly shows, and I’m proud to say one of my best friends is finishing up on her schooling journey to become a nurse, and I couldn’t be more proud of her! Thank you to all nurses out there, you are loved and appreciated!... " Thank you to Amelia Mann for sharing this photo with our Fund Duel Campaign! The CNSA is putting on a Fund Duel challenge to raise money in support of nursing students across Canada! All the money donated will be going towards funding opportunities/bursaries and awards. *Version française suite* Dear CNSA Delegates, and Friends of CNSA As presented at our regional conferences, the Board of Directors has come together with Fund Duel to form a really exciting partnership that will benefit our members nationwide. ... Fund Duel is an online, social media-based, a fundraising platform that is revolutionizing how organizations like CNSA can raise funds for their charitable initiatives. Fund Duel is tailoring a campaign for us that will request CNSA member participation in a challenge being issued by us. The simple and fun challenge will be taking a funny selfie or video in which you are Donning/Doffing your PPE, with extra points for creativity. Students will submit their photo/video onto the CNSA Fund Duel within their Team Heading. We will share our submissions on social media encouraging others to participate. Together we will bring public attention to CNSA and garner funds for our charitable endeavors, scholarships, and operational costs for the charter schools. We entered into this partnership with the understanding that due to COVID-19, chapter schools may be struggling more than ever with engagement, fundraising, and membership fees. The goal is that schools will fundraise money, and choose whether to donate the money to their own chapter or donate the money to a charity or other lumni team! Each chapter school will need a team captain to spearhead the Fund Duel Campaign. I have attached a letter detailing the simple steps required of each school to best ensure the success of their team. I have also attached a letter that may be sent out to community businesses to receive sponsorship. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Emma at [email protected] Our Q&A event will be held on Monday, November 2nd, at 1600 PST / 1900 EST over zoom and Facebook Live. Zoom Link is here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81922438197 WE ARE ORGANIZING THIS Q&A FOR YOU! MANY OF YOU HAD QUESTIONS AND THIS WILL BE THE TIME TO HAVE THEM ANSWERED!!

Dear CNSA Alumni, This year is a big year for CNSA, and one of the reasons why is the renewal of the CNSA Strategic Plan. The CNSA Strategic Planning Committee has been working diligently over the last year to develop a strategic plan that benefits the 30,000 nursing students we represent nationwide. However, due to the events that are occurring around the world in relation to COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter, the strategic plan has unfortunately not been prioritized as it sh...ould have been while CNSA has responded to the needs of its members. This situation has led us to seek out assistance from our valued CNSA alumni. Therefore, we would like to formally invite you to be part of the strategic planning process. The knowledge and expertise you have cultivated as a past CNSA member and now working in the nursing field is invaluable and would greatly contribute to our strategic plan. We are creating a CNSA alumni working group, as well as a Human Right and Equity working group to help inform our strategic plan to ensure it is all encompassing of the needs of nursing students today. These groups are intended to act in a consultative manner, however, there is also opportunity to become more involved as you see fit. If you would like to join this working group, please email Courtney at [email protected] and Emma at [email protected]. We appreciate your contribution in advance.
