The first day of the year like how a quiet little Sunday feels is a great time to do some self reflection. . My true self was in hiding for so many years through the distraction of anxiety and obsessive worrying and focusing on others or through the shame, regret and defeat of depression. . I wasn’t fully present consistently and when I started to take the steps to work on changing that I started to lose the fear anxiety brought or the defeat depression brought. ... . Journaling is a wonderful way to learn more about yourself and tip toe gently into change that might seem frightening because we’ve been denying our true selves for wayyyyyy to long that it almost seems that this version of us that is meh is what we’re ready to settle on as our truth. Don’t!!!! . True joy comes from true intentions and intentional living and being anchored in the present. . Happy New Year and to new self discovery! I am forever learning about myself too and it’s wonderful Cheers Amy See more

Starting the week off with a mental workout/detox like one would with a healthy physical/nutritional regimen is essential to making strides in our mental health. . If you look at controlling outcomes, forcing solutions and hanging out in anxiety like crushing a bag of Oreos for breakfast you might think ugh wtf? Now I feel like shit! It seems obvious that doing so would ensue discomfort. Much is the same when we are stuck in control and the fear of letting go. . The good... news is once you start to take a tour on the recovery side of fear, pain and negativity it’s like embracing a healthy mental diet. You can look back at the actions you were taking before and see how they were not healthy. Chain smoking and drinking coffee while begging men not to leave me was my mental diet for a long time and I weighed a ton with all the pain I was carrying around mentally and emotionally. It was like being on My 600lb Life mentally and emotionally! . One day at a time, little by little, taking actions rooted in self-love you can shed the mental and emotional baggage and it’s freeing to be able get up and walk through life without all that weight! Mental Work-Out Tips: Set a time daily to work out- writing 3-10 things your grateful for. If daily is too much at first try for 3x a week for 10 minutes Dream again! Write down something fun you’ve been wanting to do! Feel your feelings. Like working out, it’s not easy to get into that feeling fantastic can’t wait to workout vibe and that doesn’t mean you’re not worth it and neither is this process, it just means you’re human Progress not perfection is the goal Make a day/time each week to read something positive and motivating like someone would make time for meal prep to get themselves ready for a healthy week Keep an open mind- finding ways of embracing faith and your spiritual side can have many healing properties. Like a meat eater embracing lentils for dinner at first it’s like wtf? But no one is asking you to be vegan, but maybe incorporate some other options into your diet and find the spiritual path that works for you . Happy Monday! Let that shit go & have some faith .

When your nurture yourself with the things you love to do you access inner peace, love and joy. . Then go extend that bliss to others by spending quality time with them. Relationships and being with others is also an outlet for contentment! . I have pecan pie, cards and a cribbage game ready to go for later today when I spend some time with my mom.... . I spent time doing me time this morning and now my cup is full. . Well begun is half done as mom says so starting my day from a place of love and then spreading that shit where I can seems to be well begun to me . Happy Sunday . . #live #life #love #givelove #beyou #happy #sunday #sundayvibes #recovery #codependency #selflove #selfcare #mentalhealth See more
