Don’t you love pushups? I often see the top pic when people perform pushups Not only are the upper traps being over used here but the pectorals aren’t b...eing engaged as they should be. My cue is often ‘create an arrow with your head & elbows, not a W’. Shoulders away from ears means set the scapula or engage the back muscles so you can properly target your chest Pushups are a non-negotiable upper body, body weight, pushing exercise... all my clients have them somewhere in their program, despite the ‘I hate pushups’ comments I hear typically from women. If you hate them, it’s likely because you NEED to do them. Build upper body strength, engage the core, strengthen shoulders, chest, back & triceps. Modify if needed. Take breaks as needed.
