Coach on the Go 15.01.2021

WHAT MATTERS MONDAYS January 25, 2021 Dreary Mondays have been kicking my ass. So has the pandemic life. Since March of last yearwhen covid changed our world, I have held onto four practices that I feel have kept me grounded and mostly sane.... PRACTICE #1 Values For years I have told people that when you get that pit in the stomach feeling or when your day goes from HAPPY to SNAPPY, or when life just feels off, it is a sure indicator to check in with your values. Ask yourself, Which value(s) is out of alignment right now? If you ever see me standing still, eyes gazing up to the right and in deep thoughtyou will know that I am slowly going through my values in my head to find the disconnect. Authenticity Balance Connection Gratitude Humor Health Learning/Growth Organization Optimism Understanding/Loyalty Legacy As soon as the word that is misaligned is said aloud, my whole body reacts. It is in that moment that I choose to be BRAVE. What can I do right now to live that value with more intention? I make my plan, I set my intention and I go about to shift my day back from SNAPPY to HAPPY. PRACTICE #2 Emotions If you read my post last Monday, you know what I am talking about. It’s 4 simple tasks: 1. How am I feeling? (and stop saying good and fineget to the real word) 2. What caused it? 3. Do I want to stay or shift? 4. Grab that shift list and get going. *See last week’s post for more details if needed. PRACTICE #3 Self-Compassion When things feel hard, heavy and defeating or negative self-talk is taking overfollow this: 1. Place your hands on your heart and breathe 2. Say aloud, This is hard. 3. Remind yourself, I am not alone. Hard things happen to everyone. 4. Then choose a MAY I statement that feels relevant for that moment. Today mine were: May I be hopeful May I be patient May I be strong & supported PRACTICE #4 JOY Joy, collected over time, fuels resilience. Brené Brown I am choosing to look for the twinkle light moments every day because it helps ground me and remind me that even when things are hardthere are still things happening all around me that will make me smile and bring me joy. And if I keep collecting the joy that is all around me, maybe I am building my own resilience to help me manage the tough days. This I believe. Stay well, stay aligned, stay true to what you feel, practice self-compassion & collect joy! We can do hard things. (thanks Glennon Doyle) Danielle xoxo

Did you feel some resonance to my post the other day about how I shifted my crappy day around? I really wanted to climb back into bed and throw the covers over my head, but instead I walked myself through the best way I have learned to get out of a funk! And it worked! Are you wanting to know more? Diving into our emotions and how to process them in a healthy way is the key to living a life aligned with who we want to be. But it isn't always easy. Especially when you are in... the middle of the tough stuff. This workshop is ideal for you to learn how to shift your emotions AND it's awesome if you are trying to help your kids manage their tough emotions these days. Hope to see you there! Let me know if you have any questions! See more

Yes it was a different Christmas but there was still beauty and joy. For us it was a beautiful two hour walk as a family that normally we wouldn’t have time for. What was one thing that was beautiful and joy filled for you this year? Share below.

TGIF...it’s Friday! TRUSTING...that Nolan, who turned 20 today, is on the path that is meant for him. Watching his excitement and love of learning and life right now is so awesome! I still can’t believe he’s 20 but I can tell you for certain, being his mom and watching him navigate life is an incredible privilege. I love who this kid is! GRATEFUL...for opportunities and connections that come unexpectedly. Being asked to have my book in the @wildwilloweco box was such an hono...r, and then getting to meet Dawn, the owner, was the icing on the cake. I hope in a post covid life we get to go for coffee. As small businesses, it is so hard right now. But when we lift one another up, it makes the journey feel worth it! Thank you Dawn! INSPIRED...by @authenticitybyalex and his creative ways to brings smiles to the world. I ordered some birthday and Valentines cards from Alex this week and the message inside about why he does this business and how my purchase helped him live his purpose was so inspiring. If you need cards for any occasion you gotta check him out. FUN...I am really enjoying cooking these days. In fact it’s a bit worrisome. I told Lyle that I need to get back to work as I’ve started taking pictures of my meals. I have always hated the kitchen but 2021 has started out with a new appreciation for meal preparation and I’m having such fun! I cook Once and we eat all week...most brilliant idea ever! What are you trusting? Grateful for? Inspired by? Doing for fun? #tgifpractice #values #imperfections #coachonthego #yearofjoy See more

TGIF...it’s Friday! TRUSTING...that the feedback from girls and parents about the importance of mental wellness and their gratitude for the space Fit+Fierce provides for girls to talk about missing sports, fears, uncertainty and a deep wish for normalcy to return is exactly why with the protocols we have in place, combined with an online option for those who choose it...we will carry on. This is needed now more than ever. We know that because we witness it every night we have... a class. GRATEFUL...for my Child’s’ family. We have always come together to fight whatever obstacle is in front of us and I feel so lucky to have them in my life. We may not agree on everything, but we do agree that family is everything! INSPIRED...by my parents. They have been my real life heroes as long as I’ve been alive, and that has only grown each year. FUN...turning values into intentions is one of my favorite things to do. Watching the girls in Fit+Fierce do it, is truly the greatest way to see into their hearts and know exactly who they are. This month has been so amazing! What are you trusting? Grateful for? Inspired by? Doing for fun? Go ahead...share one answer. I’d love to hear. #tgifpractice #imperfections #values #fitfierce #livefortoday See more
