Happy New Year everyone! As we launch our 2020 season, Coastal Voices Men's Choir would like to share with you a pictorial review of a very successful 2019 seas...on. Because we are an Eastern Shore choir we like to move things around during the year. In the photos, there's a House Rehearsal on Ostrea Lake Rd in January, highlights of our April concert in East Preston as well as a 2nd April concert in Jeddore. At the end of the year we also had a concert in Sheet Harbour. Not pictured, we also performed in East Chezzetcook in May and had House concerts during the year in Mineville and East Ship Harbour. So, we do get around! We are always on the lookout for more men to join us. Therefore, please share this posting no matter where you live. One of your friends may know someone on the Eastern Shore who might like to join our choir! You do not have to live on the Eastern Shore to be a member of this choir. We accept youth (at a discounted price!) with changed voices and have members in their 80's singing with us. You do not need to have experience singing in a choir. If you just want to check us out for one or two evenings, we're OK with that. The choir meets regularly at the Harbour Lites Seniors Club, 167 Meaghers Grant Rd. The choir is directed by Ross Thompson, an exceptional choral and voice teacher and the accompanist is John Plant a super talented pianist and composer from West Jeddore. Allan Banks is the assistant conductor and fills in when needed. Allan also provides voice lessons/vocal coaching for any members who want extra help outside of choir rehearsals. Rehearsals are every Thursday evening from 7-9pm. The music that we sing is a mixture of folk songs, gospel, classical, opera, original compositions, and much more!
