It's so beautiful to NOT see everyone in the streets. Congrats Victorians for staying home and doing your part to slow the spread, and thank you to all the medical professionals, first responders and public services for keeping us healthy and safe!

We have been getting some calls and emails from friends and family asking about rentals in Victoria. I thought I would take a minute to explain what we have been doing to support the ongoing CoVID-19 situation. Over the last 2 weeks we have seen waves upon waves of cancellations from domestic and international travellers. We support their decisions to stay at home during this time and have ensured that all of our cancelled guests have received a full refund for their booking.... We are currently focusing on supporting Victoria workers and families affected by this crisis and offering accommodations to health care professionals relocating to the city to assist at the hospitals as well as Canadians returning from abroad that need to self-isolate for the min required 14 day period. So far we have 3 groups that are isolating in different condos and some respiratory therapists that are here to work with patients at the Royal Jubilee. We want to make sure there is accommodations available for those who need it, if you have a loved one or vulnerable family member affected by CoVID-19 that needs to be in a safe and secure place during this time please reach out and we will put our efforts towards assisting them. We are also working with Carmen Addario who is putting together a system with his partners to offer food and supplies drop off services to people in isolation or vulnerable age groups that don't have a support network around them. If you know of anyone in Victoria B.C or the surrounding areas that could use a routine drop off of food or supplies please reach out in this thread or send me a DM. This is a difficult time, and while we can't all be together during this moment of uncertainty we can remember to continue to be a community that loves and supports each other. We hope everyone is taking this time to slow down and focus on what is most important to them and having a deep connection with the ones they love most. Picking up the phone and making a call to someone you haven't talked to in a while is a great way to reach out and bring your community even closer. isolate, quarantine, and distance will never separate people, it's silence that does. Love, Orion

I’m not downplaying the severity of CoVID-19. Our global economy, health care systems and people’s mental health & physical well beings are being pushed to the ...absolute limits and broken. But where there is bad there is good and where there is pain and suffering, there is opportunity for change. If humankind can come together to change their ways of life to overcome this. Let’s remember that we can do the same to protect our environment as well. From forest fires, to rising sea temperatures, carbon emissions, and extinctions. We have inflicted pain and suffering in our own planet and now it appears that the planet is answering back. Last year social media and news outlets were hyper focused on climate change and some devastating events. We have just been given an amazing opportunity to witness the real life effects of slowing down our pace and putting all of our efforts toward a single global issue..... Slow it down, stay at home a little longer, put your phones down, spend time with your loved ones, cook dinner and then sit and enjoy it together, take this time to make some changes and see it’s true effect in your life and the world around you. Let’s all take a minute to recognize that... Sometimes the universe answers us in some fucked up ways. With Love, Orion.

We are wishing the best to all of our global travellers in these times of uncertainty. We are ensuring our cleaners are taking extra steps to ensure our units are clean and comfortable for our guests that are continuing their travel plans. Thank you for your support and we look forward to hosting you in the future! Orion & Lesley

Airbnb is adapting their cancellation policy to better support guests and hosts. Travel is one of the strongest industries in the world and will recover slowly, its great to see a company forward thinking and support the industry where it can. https://news.airbnb.com/more-flexible-reservations-in-time/
