I think the only way a Sonic tool dies is when you let a friend borrow it! @sonicsportsla Can you date this colour/model? I feel like I've had it well over 10 years... edges are still sharp, has done the job a thousand times and will do a thousand more. Might be easy to look at it and say that's a pricey tool, but when it lasts this long I think you are wasting money if you buy anything else. I thought I lost mine, but a buddy returned it at one of our last games. I was sad ...when I was panic-searching my bag for it and thought it was gone. Used to play my first 'organized' roller here as a youngster 25ish years ago. No coaching, practice or lessons. Drop the ball and 15 or so of us went at it for an hour. We got the gang together back in January to play. A few sketchy spots, concrete boards, just big enough for a tight 4 on 4 game, dry and cozy in the rainy season. Just as fun as I remember it. Setting up @pavelbarbertraining before the big move with @marsblade_rollerhockey R1 frames in Small. Proportionally looks like a better fit on his @playtruehockey customs than the Medium frame we installed (a handful of posts back) on another pair. Smaller wheels and shower wheelbase, less/lighter hardware, more agility, closer to the ground. Sacrifices a bit of top end speed and stopping power but we think these are more Barber-ish and will be the ones. @marsblade_rollerhockey R1 frames with @revision_hockey_usa ASF2 wheels on @playtruehockey for the talented @tony_headrick I'm a few games into the R1 and have been liking it. Big change from the feel of the O1, which I couldn't wait to stop using. R1 is a very smooth ride. Legs and brain are still adjusting but I actually find myself wanting to use them. Good signs so far. More experimenting to do! Curious if my legs will be more fatigued at the end of games due to the extr...a weight and motion, or if I'll be more efficient zipping around the rink. The holy grail of outdoor courts is in Port Moody BC. Sadly about 40 minute drive from the city we live in. We love playing here through the winter and I wish we had something like this in @cityofvancouver Especially during the wet weather, our usual outdoor courts can be unusable for months at times. I think we can turn a few under-utilized lacrosse boxes into outdoor spaces that are accessible year-round to serve and build more communities. Please?
