Central Ontario ATV Club 22.12.2020

Hello ATV and SXS riders It's come to our attention that a motion is being raised at the Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus meeting this Friday to move for a rebra...nded EOTA pass. Like you, we'd like to see a single pass in Ontario but this "One Pass" is not it. The individual who brought the motion forward is misrepresenting the OFATV and its membership. The OFATV uses the funds from permit sales to promote safety and develop trails. This is accomplished by two employees and many, many amazing volunteers. This past year we have grown to 22 clubs, 13,500 riders, 7500 KM of trails and are advocating fiercely with the Provincial Government for greater access and increased safety. We are connecting trails through our clubs and working hard to give our riders an amazing riding experience. This proposal will directly affect, Ottawa Valley ATV club, Coe Hill ATV club, Verona ATV club, Northumberland ATV club, Renfrew County ATV club ATV club of Eastern Ontario, Nation Valley ATV club, Johnstown ATV club, Rideau Lakes ATV club, Algonquin Trailriders and Thousand Islands ATV club by loss of trail access. If you are a member of one of theses clubs please contact your local Mayor and ask some tough question on how the One pass will benefit you as a tax payer. Here is a link to the EOWC http://www.eowc.org/en/about-us/our-municipalities.aspx if you click on About Us link there is a list of contacts that you can use. There has been a direct investment from our clubs into trails of $852,455.70. ATV clubs are the right way to go to build trail systems.

The most frequent question we get this time of year is, WHERE CAN I RIDE IN THE WINTER? OFATV clubs that offer Winter Groomed trails (groomed for wheeled ATV's... similar to OFSC trails -- or are in an area that does not get enough snow to limit access to ATV traffic) would include Northumberland District ATV Riders, ATV Club of Eastern Ont inc, Johnstown ATV Club, and Nation Valley ATV Club. www.QuadOn.ca shows you the interactive map of which OFATV trails are open vs. closed. Some other areas that offer Winter riding, but require additional trail fees, would be Lake of Bays ATV Club, Haliburton Forest, QUAD NIAGARA ATV CLUB and Glendaler's ATV Club. Please reach out to these clubs directly for information on fees, trail conditions, accessibility, and accommodations.

Merry Christmas to all!

NOTICE: We have receive several complaints about people doing donuts and ripping up the parking areas, your tires are throwing rocks at the vehicles parked in there and causing damage to the area. That is very disrespectful to the other users and the landowners. PLEASE RESPECT THE TRAILS AND PARKING AREAS!... Trails are a privilege and we would like to keep them for all to enjoy!

GREAT NEWS! Our Wildman forest trail is now connected to our trail system. We got a 1 year trial on a road connection from Tiny to connect the Wildman forest trails with the rest of our trail system. Please respect the rules and we may get it approved as a permanent bylaw and we may even get more roads from them. Check the QuadON app or map http://QuadON.ca for all the routes available and up to date trail status.

We have had reports of ATV's and dirt bikes riding off trails in the county forest. Anyone riding off a marked trail is trespassing and can cost us the use of the forest and lost of trails. Please don't be that person! Please stay on trails! Thanks.

5 years ago Town of Wasaga Beach passed the ATV bylaw allowing ATVs on all the roads in town. At that time we only had one little section of road in Springwater and now we have a great connected trail system across Simcoe County and still growing. Thank you Wasaga Beach for believing in us.

Controlled burn in Simcoe County Forest. We don’t have any trails in this area so this is not affecting the trail system, however we want to help get the word out.
