This past weekend kicked off the season with ...the Western Track Challenge 2019 at the Velodrome in Burnaby. Impressive to watch cyclists speed past at 50+ km/h on a banked oval track. Environmental Integrity Cobotix has a strong commitment to the environment. The cell manufacturing concept in itself has a cascading effect on both cost savings and positive impact on waste and CO2 emissions. Gone are the idling diesel trucks waiting to be loaded for their drive across town. With a Cobotix cell, this is reduced to a pallet jack or electric forklift moving customer parts across the floor to their receiving area. This also reduces the need for extensive and was...teful packaging. These are just a few of the obvious benefits. Each cell team member has a good sense of awareness for improving processes and is always on the lookout for opportunities to reduce waste. The commitment to our environment extends beyond just the manufacturing processes with 40 percent of our office staff driving electric vehicles. It started in 2012 with the owner getting the first electric car, inspiring others to do the same. More EV’s are on order waiting for delivery. Cobotix has installed 5 EV charging stations for general public access and for accommodating our team with a commitment to provide as many chargers as required to accommodate and encourage the growing EV demand. Since switching to electric vehicles, Cobotix team members have reduced CO2 emissions by an estimated 27.6 tonnes per year. We at Cobotix openly challenge other companies to do the same.
