ZOOM CLASSES FOR NEXT WEEK For all members, unfortunately we still haven't heard any response from Fraser Health, WorkSafe, or any other provincial ministry we contacted. To our Genesis Family, As per Provincial health orders, we have been mandated to close again to help stop the spread of Covid 19. Initially Dr. Henry had said 2 weeks closure, however it does appear that we may be able to get our Covid planned approved through Fraser Health, and reopen sooner (We are hoping by the end of the week.) Luckily, we already have a plan in place, but it does appear we will have to take a step back for a couple weeks and go back to solo drilling, a...nd then phase in small group training towards the end of the month. We will also be reimplementing requiring students to sign in to the MindBody app as space will be limited. (get.mndbdy.ly/wc4DmfIsx6) As such the schedule will be changed accordingly, hopefully just for a couple of weeks. The complete plan is listed on our website (www.genesismartialarts.ca) and we asked you CAREFULLY READ the updated plan, as some changes will be occurring. Our goal is to be back open Nov 12th. The updated schedule changes will be completed tonight, as well as the updated Mindbody. We want to thank all of you for your continued support. We apologize for this inconvenience, unfortunately this situation is out of our hands, but rest assured we are doing everything in our power to have our doors open again ASAP! Yesterday we learned of the passing of one of our team mates. Dustin Baber was a great young man, always smiling, and always quick to laugh. His eagerness to learn, dedication to training, and great attitude will be sorely missed. I’ll never forget Dustins first day of training. He was so hyped up, almost vibrating and running around the gym like a kid in a playground. By the end of class he was absolutely exhausted, and I recalling thinking to myself that he would never be back. To my surprise, he showed up again to the next class, and the next. Eventually getting to the point where he would hardly ever miss any class (both Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing.) Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dustin and his family. Rest easy young man.

Beautiful recovery from being smash in half guard with the cross face and Under hook. We are so blessed to be representing the Master Cobrinha on the West Coast of Canada. On a side note: As many of you know Cobrinha is a 6 time World Champion, and 3 x ADCC Champion. After assessing the class schedule over the last 2 weeks we have streamlined out temporary schedule. As classes fill back up, and once we return to normal operation we will adjust and add classes as needed. The schedule changes are minor, and several classes have been combined.
