Dear Friends, With Him your dream will come true In Genesis 12, the land Abram treads does not yet belong to him, even though God's promise is repeated to him once more. In short, he had received the promise, but not yet the fruits of that promise. At some point in our life, we will find ourselves in this situation regarding our dreams, our ambitions, our wishes. Now the question is, what do we do in the meantime? We are waiting for you every Saturday for our Praise Celebration services at 115, 16 Av in Cochrane at 6pm.

Dear Friends, His goodness and His grace. Ps 130.3-4. To our surprise, the fear of the Lord increases as we experience grace and forgiveness. There is the key to his goodness. All advice for our daily life presupposes the existence of a holy God who, however, saves by grace. A God who would accept only those of the highest morality would inspire only a servile fear of being punished. A God who accepts everyone without arguing might arouse warm affection. It is only the conviction that we are lost sinners, but saved free of charge, creates an assurance that is both joyful and reverent for his saving love. Good week to all of you with His infinite grace and thank you Lord for Your Victory on the cross.

WHAT ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE TRIALS OF LIFE? James 1.2-4. While preparing a sermon, I was challenged by his verses, because the way in which James begins his epistle is unique: after the customary greetings, he goes directly to the heart of the matter and places the reader in front of strong observations. He encourages her to see the ordeal as a matter of complete joy, because it nurtures our perseverance and makes us grow. If one could read or say this in a detached way, it i...s much less easy to experience it, especially to realize that trials can be a matter of joy, moreover complete joy, not just a passing or partial feeling. If we compare these verses with Romans 8:28, the trial is also part of the "whole" which contributes to the "good" of those who love God, that is, conformity to the image of the Son of God. Without it, we do have a hard time evolving at times, and without it we would not learn certain lessons. While the trial is painful, it can harbor joy when it is seen in connection with Jesus Christ. We are not spared as Christians. Asaph pointed out this about the righteous, more stricken by trials, according to him, but the finality of the righteous is not the same: an eternal perspective awaits him. When we look at the ordeal in the light of it, it does indeed become a subject of "complete" joy. I admit that I do not always understand how the ordeal can be a source of joy. However, in the perspective of what God has done for me and the eternal life that awaits me, I recognize that it takes on another meaning and I can see it differently. Thank you, because you are and will be with me every day, including in times of trial. Amen. Have a good week in Christ our Lord. See more

Dear Friends, This week we will continue with part # 5 of our series on Our Identity as a Christian. If we know that our God is there all the time why is our faith often put to the test? This is because our faith is based on the things around us, but not on the reality of God the great "I am" Join us on Saturdays at 6 pm exceptionally via Video-Messenger, for our service of praise and celebration.

Dear Friends, WITH GOD IT IS ALWAYS "YES". 2 Cor 1.18-20 In the collective imagination, God is more associated with "no" than "yes". Yet we see in his Word that he pronounces multiple "yes": He says "yes" to our existence. Long before we were born, he knew us perfectly, and every day he renews to all, without distinction, the life, the breath and everything (Acts 17:25). He says "yes" to a relationship. Even if the human being has pronounced a "no" of independence vis-à-vi...s God by giving in to the temptation to become a god himself, God has always said "yes" to a relationship with man whom he has. created. And the climax of that "yes" was embodied in a little child, born into poverty in Bethlehem, without pomp. As an adult, by mingling with those who were considered infrequent, by healing some or resuscitating others, by calling out to everyone, he manifested the "yes" of God in a perfect way. And, even more, as paradoxical as it seems, this yes of God has never been greater than during the crucifixion of the Messiah, scandal for some and folly for others, but sublime demonstration of divine love. He says "yes" to an alliance. The love of God is both faithful and genuine (two words which are not contradictory for him). To give us concrete assurance of this, he places this love within the framework of an alliance. And this comes at a price: that of spilled blood. Jesus makes this clear, during the last meal with his disciples, by handing them a cup of wine. Finally, his "yes" precedes ours: "Let your word be 'yes' for yes, 'no' for no; what is added to it comes from evil ", Christ enjoins us (Matthew 5.37). However, if we lack the will and / or the putting into practice, God produces the will and the doing in us, for his benevolent plan (Philippians 2:13), of course, but also so that our yes Are based on a solid foundation. Thank you, Father, for your many "yeses" that accompany me, and for the one you have demonstrated in Jesus Christ. Have a good week and we say thank you Lord for your Victory on the cross. See more

Dear Friends, Fight envy: Proverbs 23.17-18; 24.19-20 Envy stems from two concerns. First, we are obsessed with the notion of merit. Our hearts refuse to remember that everything is given to us by grace and prefers to dwell on what we earn. Second, we are focused on the present moment. The solution is to look to the Lord (Proverbs 23.17b) and to the future with an attitude of hope (Proverbs 23.18), realizing that our true reward depends on the grace of God. We should also rem...ember that ultimately believers will not go wanting (Psalm 17:15). Christians can "look up" with a perspective that Proverbs could not communicate: Jesus did not complain that he died when he deserved life; he endured all of this so that we could live, when we deserved death. He was the least envious human being who ever lived. When we take stock of what he has done for us, it starts to erode our urge. If he didn't complain about a life infinitely worse than he deserved, why should we complain, when we are enjoying a life infinitely better than the one, we deserve? How much do you belittle your life for thinking too much about what you deserve? How can you apply the gospel, following the example of Jesus, to help you stop this attitude? Lord Jesus, you did not deserve the death you endured, but you did not agree to escape it. I do not deserve the salvation that I receive from your sufferings either, but neither are you. I praise you for your great generosity and I ask you to reproduce this character trait in me. have a good week in the Victory of the Cross. See more

Dear friends, Let God be God: Ex 32: 1-8. As Christians, we sometimes tend to do as the Israelites did in this episode: we favor a teaching that suits us in the Bible over other truths that qualify it. Our personal bias (origin, lessons received, experiences made) keeps us on a rut. We seek to bring the Lord into our way of thinking. In a way, we lock it in the mold of our intellectual capacities. For rational Westerners in particular, it is difficult to let go of the mystery... and admit that there are some truths we cannot really grasp. For us, too, it is difficult to worship an invisible and elusive God. Let us try to be truly faithful to him by recognizing him the freedom to surprise us in the weeks and months to come. Lord, help me to realize that you are beyond me and to respect this truth in the way I talk about you and how I live with you daily. Amen. Have a good week in the victory of Christ See more

Dear Friends, Our Feelings and Reality with God. Ps 31.25. When David got into trouble, he imagined that God was not with him: "I am chased away from your eyes! (V.23). When success is achieved, we may have the opposite feeling: I will never be moved (Ps 30: 7), which is just as wrong. It is therefore important to live based on what God has revealed and not on our feelings. When traversing clouds, pilots must follow the directions of their on-board instruments, even when... they object to what their senses perceive to be the clear course to follow or they will die. When we walk through the clouds of prosperity or adversity, let us not indulge in complacency or despair. Instead, let us trust our God filled with wisdom and grace. If my heart doesn't learn to trust your Word when it tells me what I don't want to hear, neither will it accept it when it tells me what I desperately want to hear about. Dear friends Unnecessary afflictions: Ps 69.30-34 What do we do when pain grips us and we are in pain? We tend to fall into the trap of pity, bitterness, fear, or lust. All because any difficulty points to a reality other than what our theory of life is capable of capturing. David, on the other hand, does not fall into the above-mentioned traps, for he adopted an understanding of life that includes suffering, transforming it into a means of glorifying God (vv. 30-31). Praisi...ng God is an antidote to self-centeredness that can overwhelm us when we are in pain. This not only honors God, but it also encourages others (v. 33). When we go through suffering, do not allow ourselves to be sucked into ourselves, let us turn fully to God in praising him and put ourselves at the service of those in need. Good week to you and let us sing together the Victory of Christ. See more
