Trick or Treat With Halloween around the corner, we want to make sure everyone is staying safe. Halloween is a time for candy and scares. But having a food allergy doesn't have to be as scary. This link offers great tips when it comes to trick or treating or hosting a party (within the guidelines). ... For example, "Switch Witch" or "Great Pumpkin" is a great way to bargain with your kids. Simply have them leave out their treats over night so you can exchange them for a toy, or even make a Halloween date and go pick one out together. You could also donate the candy to local food banks or community centers. If they would like to keep the treats, encourage them to go through the ingredients labels on all the candy with you to determine which ones are safe. Lastly, if your child is going trick or treating, please keep in mind that since they will be wearing masks to prevent COVID- 19, their signs and symptoms might be covered. Check with them after a few houses to make sure they're doing okay and to give them a breather from the mask. Happy Halloweening #shineateallight #shineateallightonfoodallergies
