Cochrane Centre has a new address! Our mailing and street address is now 42 Bannerman Street, St. John’s, NL A1C 3M6. What do you think of our new sign?
So while the chalk for the chalk board sits at home (there's been lots of that) I'll have to hold off giving the full menu for this week's farmers market. But h...ere's a glimpse! I'm tired of trying to wrangle the lemon curd into the croissants so this week you can expect lemon Danish pastries alongside the spiced Apple ones. I'll obviously have fresh Lemon curd for sale and I'm also bringing back Puff pastry Apple turnovers. One last quick mention. I'm gonna chop up some Mac O Rooneys and throw them in Cookies and I'll be making Chocolate chip cookie sandwiches that are filled with Chocolate ganache. A brief heads up and I'll post the full menu a little later in the week.
More exciting news: The Old Dublin Bakery moved into Cochrane Centre this week! Looking for some Saturday plans? Drop by the pop-up shop at Chinched from 11am-2pm today to try the first round of delicious bakery items prepared in our commercial kitchen this week. While you're downtown, at 12:30pm we have The Classical Community Concert Organization here for Classical Music Concert - featuring Sean Rice! Admission is $10 at the door, and our concert hall entrance at 81 Cochrane Street will be open for this event.
Today we begin construction of more housing at Cochrane Centre. Five affordable seniors’ apartments coming soon!

It was wonderful to be able to offer free haircuts to the community from our space yesterday, especially to the residents of our supportive housing units on the floor above. Thank-you to Jeff Hillyard of Bearded Villains' Maritimes Chapter for organizing such a thoughtful outreach event, and to the barbers and hairstylists who generously donated their time for the first Haircuts for Hope at Cochrane Centre: J. Edgar's Top Notch Barbershop, "One of the Boys" Barber Shop, Straight Edge Barbers, ELLE Salon & Spa, and Flhair by Lauren. http://www.cbc.ca//ne/haircuts-for-hope-st-johns-1.4582745
Yesterday it was a barbershop, this morning it’s a rehearsal room. Check out Peter Willie Youngtree LIVE from Cochrane Centre’s Event Room!
