Hi everyone, We were made aware of the post by the Iron Bridge on termination our relationship, and wanted to assure you that COVID-19 was not a factor in this difficult break-up. We have been in discussions with the Iron Bridge since January of this year regarding a mutual termination of the lease agreement. This was far before any COVID-19 cases were reported in Canada, and the Iron Bridge’s business has been struggling for a long time now. We have provided numerous concess...ions, deferrals, reductions to Iron Bridge to date as a goodwill gesture from a business owner to another. Our positions on the terms of the mutual termination was too far apart, and we were unable to come to an agreement even after both parties engaging own legal counsel. In early April, Iron Bridge let us know they will not be making payment for April’s rent and rent from previous deferrals. We sent a default notice with a reasonable period to cure the default. After sending the default letter, we received a letter from the Iron Bridge that they will not be making any further payments unless their demands are met. Earlier this month, we were further notified that Iron Bridge will start removing their assets from the restaurant over the next few weeks. Based on the correspondence received from Iron Bridge, we had no choice but to terminate under the lease. Following advice from our legal counsel to prevent damage to the leased property by controlling the move-out process, termination notice was sent to Iron Bridge on May 7th and locks have been changed. We would like to reiterate that the termination talk has been on-going for many months now, far before this pandemic made such significant impact on our lives. We apologize for the unfortunate turns of events, and we remain committed to the community we operate in. We thank you for your support of our small family business during this unprecedented time.
