COVID UPDATE As I have previously mentioned, we are lucky enough to be able to remain open during lockdown. Our procedures will, for the most part, remain the same. We are open to walk-in traffic, which means you can still come inside to make a purchase. We will remain diligent in cleaning and sanitizing all frequently touched/used surfaces and objects. Tyson and I are also committed to leaving our home/business only to purchase necessities such as groceries. We feel that t...his is absolutely essential right now as business owners. What's changed? the basic rules haven't changed : wear a facial covering, stay six feet apart, and don't touch anything unless absolutely necessary. We will, however, be increasingly strict (I don't like the word strict here.. maybe "thorough" is better?) in implementing these rules. If you are not socially distancing, we will ask you to step back. If you are touching the antiques, we will politely ask that you stop. We will offer you assistance with buns/biscuits and retail product if needed. We will ask you to wear your mask in the proper manner if it is below your nose, or being moved off of your face to speak. We will ask you to put a facial covering on upon entry if need be, and we will happily provide you with one for no extra charge if you do not have one. In the past, we have tip-toed around those who have refused to wear a mask. As new business owners, we didn't want to ruffle feathers or start a confrontation. There have only been a few "anti-maskers" in so far, so it hasn't been a constant issue. We do want to make it clear that effective immediately, you will be asked to exit the building if you are not wearing a facial covering. If you are mask-exempt, you may wear a face shield, or Tyson can assist you in making a purchase from outside. We will NOT entertain a confrontation - we will simply ask you to step outside. We hope you understand that we are simply trying to keep our doors open, and keep our community safe. I recognize that we are so lucky to be open right now, and I am fully committed to keeping it that way! Let's all do our part #cocoscookiesorillia See more

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close, effective immediately until January 20th, 2021. We have just been notified that someone we know has tested positive for covid. We immediately contacted the health unit, who assured us that because we were wearing masks and not coming in close contact, we are not at high risk. However, as I've stated before, we are taking every precaution to keep our friends, family, and community safe.... We have decided to get tested, just to be on the safe side. The health unit has informed us that everyone who gets tested must isolate for 14 days. Unfortunately this means that we will have to close for two weeks. I was so excited to reopen today, and I'm so sorry for any inconvenience. We have done everything we are supposed to do - we haven't seen our families or friends, we haven't had holiday dinners, we have only left our house to purchase groceries or supplies for the bakery, and we have been extremely diligent about mask-wearing and hand-washing. I'm really sad that we have to do this, but we just can't risk our health, and your health, even if the chances are slim. I'll take this opportunity to point out that although it was slow to arrive here in our community, this is real and it's spreading here FAST.Please, everyone, take this seriously and do your part to reduce the spread of covid. We appreciate your understanding. I really hope you'll come back and see us in two weeks! See more

Did you know that for just $10 you can feed a cat at The Comfie Cat Shelter for a whole week?!? We have chosen The Comfie Cat Shelter as our local organization of the month!! That means we will be donating 100% of January's tips to our local cat shelter. I think one thing that we can all agree on is that we don't deserve animals.. they are too sweet and pure for this world! Many of you know that The Comfie Cat Shelter is frequently in need of donations. They use these donat...ions to purchase necessities for the cats (such as food), cleaning supplies, and medical procedures (I.e. spaying/neutering). Last month, we raised an incredible $500 for The Sharing Place.. imagine how many sweet little shelter kitties we could feed with that much money!! We've got some great ideas for local organizations to donate to in the upcoming months. Thank you so much to everyone who contributes to our tip jar, and in turn helps us give back to our community!! #cocoscookiesorillia #comfiecatshelter #shoplocal #supportsmallbusinesses #orillia See more

"I'm getting a brother???" - Baby Zo IT'S A BOY.. and the look on this proud daddy's face says it all! I'm so happy for two of my best friends Shanny & Wes, and I was so excited to be a part of their reveal. When Shanny asked if I wanted to bake cupcakes for their live gender reveal video, I had to say yes! I didn't know the gender until right before the live video was posted, and I was so nervous that I would give them the wrong cupcakes!! If you haven't watched the vide...o, make sure you check out Shan's FB or @sharpimagesalonspa's IG - you have to see how happy Sophadoo was to find out she's getting a baby brother! #cocoscookiesorillia #madefromscratchwithlove #sharpimagesalonspa #genderreveal See more

I know that this past year has not been a happy one for a lot of people. I've felt guilty when I've told people that 2020 was not all bad for me. I got a chance to go on vacation with Tyson just before the first lockdown began. I started a little side business baking for my friends and family to keep myself sane during lockdown. I decided to turn that little side business into my dream bakery - and with the help of Tyson, and my friends and family, we made it happen! I watche...d people that I don't even know line up outside to buy my cookies, when I thought no one would want to come to my bakery. Tyson spent endless hours (on top of his full time job) building me a space that I could start my empire in, and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. He put his heart and soul into MY dream.. if that's not love, I don't know what is! I recieved more love and support from my friends and family than I ever thought I deserved. They helped Tyson and I transform a little empty unit into the beautiful space that is Coco's Cookies. On top of that, they volunteered their time to work at Coco's when they knew that I couldn't do it alone. I also recieved support from our community, which completely blew me away. I had strangers introduce themselves to me and tell me "I follow you on Instagram, and I know how hard you're working. Did you get any sleep last night? Did you eat today?" - if that was you, please know how much it meant to me. All in all, 2020 was a good year for me, and although I feel guilty even typing that, I'm also proud of what I've accomplished this year. I so badly want life to go back to normal - I want to travel with Tyson, have drinks on a patio with my Sharp girls, enjoy a big family meal, and shop without worrying about whether I left my mask in the car. However, I've always looked for the positives in life's obstacles, and I'll never change. This year taught me that I can do hard things, that it's okay to feel proud of yourself, and that I deserve the love I receive from others .. for that, I wouldn't change a thing #cocoscookiesorillia See more

Merry Christmas, from Coco's Cookies Thank you so much to all of you - for your support, patronage, word of mouth, likes, shares.. all of it! This dream of mine is bigger than I ever could have imagined it would be, and it's all thanks to you. It's still very surreal to me, and it hasn't quite sunk in yet. Perhaps a few days off will do the trick! I can't fully express my gratitude to all of you for helping to make my dream come true. Just know that I'm so thankful for ev...ery one of you who has walked through my door over the past 7 weeks! This Christmas just feels different, but we will get through it together with kindness and gratitude. I said to Tyson on Christmas Eve "whoever wrote the song 'There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays' has never lived through a lockdown". I know that a lot of us are homesick, or missing out on time with our families. I'm definitely feeling it - our family hasn't enjoyed a holiday dinner together since last Christmas, and it's tough. I am, however, grateful for this past year for leading me on the journey that is Coco's Cookies. Tyson and I will be spending our time off self-quarantined at home. We feel that as a small business, it's our responsibility to take this lockdown very seriously in order to safely serve you when we reopen on January 5th. Because we are able to stay open throughout the lockdown, we need to stay healthy and safe in order to keep our community healthy and safe! We can't wait to see what 2021 holds for Coco's! We are sending love and light to all of you, and we hope that you can enjoy Christmas in your own special way despite the lockdown. We wish you all the very best for the coming year, and we can't wait to see you when we reopen our doors! Love, Coco & Tyson See more
