Last bit of lettuce and the last of the tomatoes from our little garden! Pretty good for early November! Hopefully we will be able to do even better next year! We had about 340 lbs of vegetables this year!

Picked the rest of the tomatoes in the little food bank greenhouse today! We will try to ripen most of them before they go ! The last of the carrots were picked today as well , so far...........about 270lbs of vegetables !Tomatoes and a bit of lettuce not weighed yet!

In the past few weeks we have received bread, fish, chicken and more from Dominion, since the Strike started. The Hr Grace Food Bank would like to thank first of all, Dominion for the generous donations of food. We would also like to thank the strikers who allowed us to cross their picket lines with Grace and charity. Thanks to the K of C for allowing us to pack up seafood at their facilities, and to the United Church and Hr Grace cold Storage for storing frozen meats a...t their facilities when our freezers were full to the brim! All this with no cost to us. This is a wonderful example of the community coming together to help the less fortunate! This is a photo of frozen food being delivered to Hr Grace Cold Storage for storage. Thanks also to our volunteers and their spouses who put so much time and effort into making this amazing project happen!

The vegetables are growing in our little garden, picking snow peas, tomatoes and lettuce now! The beans and carrots are coming along, and some radish just newly planted will be ready next month.
