In case you didn't read the COVID bulletin emailed out to all registrants yesterday, here's the bottom line: The directive related to the provision of health care services has not changed as part of the provincial stay at home order. RPs should be practicing remotely to the greatest extent possible in order to minimize the spread of COVID-19. As has been the case for some time, if you have clients who you cannot see using phone, teleconference or other remote technologies, a...nd who would be at risk if you were unable to provide care, use your best clinical judgement to manage this situation, including using appropriate infection prevention and control practices. All of CRPO’s COVID-19 resources--including Frequently Asked Questions about conditions under which you may choose to see a client in person, mask-wearing and electronic practice--are here: https://www.crpo.ca/faqs-covid-19/

In a week when protests over the death of George Floyd and others have taken place across the world, CRPO condemns racism and racial discrimination in all its forms. Research demonstrates that Black communities face significant mental health impacts due to anti-Black violence. As a regulator working in the interests of the public, CRPO stands opposed to systemic oppression and violence. We stand with Black communities across Ontario and have made a donation to the Black Health Alliance to support their Pathways to Care project, which is aimed at at removing barriers and improving access to mental health and addictions services for Black children, youth and their families.
