Another disappointing find on Kavanaugh Mill Rd! Someone dumped 20 buckets of Tractor Hydraulic fluid (19L buckets) over the side of the road and down into the Brook. If anyone has information on the source of this material please call the Helpline at 902-895-4777.

Slow Down to Get Around (SDTGA) is a national safety campaign that reminds motorists to drive more carefully when near waste and recycling collection vehicles. Being struck by a motorist is a leading cause of death for waste and recycling collection employees, and with proper awareness, is completely preventable. This time of year especially, with it getting dark earlier, please help keep our collectors safe while they do their essential work! Check out SWANA for more information: https://swana.org/initiatives/safety/slow-down-to-get-around

Every year we hold an event in celebration of our volunteers. This event is open to both current and prospective volunteers. We provide updates on our work, net...work with like-minded programs, and listen to interesting waste and litter related presentations. We also have awards selected for certain volunteers and present our committee members with their long service awards. Our next event will be held online through Microsoft Teams due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On November 28th at 1 pm, click the below link to join our event: https://teams.microsoft.com//19%3ameeting_MDM1ZGJlMzgtN/0 We hope to see you all on the 28th!
