We regret to announce that, given the updated COVID-19 health restrictions put in place Nov. 24 by the Government of Alberta (including a ban on all indoor and ...outdoor festivals and events), the 2020 Cold Lake Santa Clause Parade will not be moving forward. The parade is an annual tradition enjoyed by many in our community, and while this news is disappointing, the decision was made with the health and safety of the people of Cold Lake and all Albertans, top of mind. Additional supports are now available for businesses as the Government of Alberta has expanded and increased the Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant. The City of Cold Lake is aware of a Facebook post made on the YourAlberta page on November 16 stating that Cold Lake is now included in targeted COVID-19 health... measures banning indoor team sports, fitness classes, singing, dancing and performing activities. We have confirmed with Alberta Health Services that this post was made in error. These specific measures are currently in effect for larger urban centres and the City of Cold Lake is NOT included at this time.
