Multiple Bus Cancellations February 9, 2021 - There are multiple bus cancellations throughout the division for Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Please check the Bus Status app or nlpsab.ca to see if your route is affected. More cancellations may be added later this morning so please check before heading to your bus stop. Schools remain open and regular classes will proceed. Programming may be modified if large numbers of students are absent. If your child will be absent due to the bus cancellation, or for any other reason, please inform your child’s school. You can report an absence using the School Messenger app, at go. Schoolmessenger.ca or by calling your child’s school directly. Safety is our top priority and we want to make sure that all of our students who plan to attend arrive safely.

In case you missed the email message last week, here is the CLMS COVID NEWS: Starting November 30, CLMS grade 7 and 8 students will be moving to online learning from home, as per AB Education. Grades 4-6 will remain in school with an in-person learning until December 18. After Christmas break, all students grades 4-8 will return to online learning from home from January 4-8, 2021. On January 11, all students will return to school for in-person learning. For grades 7-8 online ...learning at home: CLMS will be following the same bell schedule. Attendance will be taken and recorded daily; please continue to call in or use SchoolEngage to report your child’s absence. Thank you very much!!!!! Students are expected to attend daily and ready to learn. Teachers will continue with the program of studies, teaching and assessing. All academic classes, options classes, recess, lunch breaks, movement breaks etc will continue as usual. CLMS is very fortunate to have great teachers and support staff, our teachers already have the kids trained in using Google Classroom and Google Meet!!! Teachers have been busy making this transition as smooth as possible. Alternative ways of learning is also arranged for a small number of students. PLEASE READ THE TEACHER EMAILS on a regular basis!!!!! Personal counselling time with Miss North will also continue uninterrupted. Any pre-ordered hot lunches for gr 7-8 students will be refunded next week. This is such a challenging time for all staff, students and parents. We absolutely appreciate your understanding and your patience. Your willingness to support this transition is vital in ensuring your child’s success. The PURDYS order has arrived!! It will be sorted this evening and ready for pick up tomorrow (Wednesday, November 25). Thank you to everyone who supported our PAC!!

NLPS have been working with Cold Lake First Nations as they have worked with Indigenous Services Canada to utilize funding to purchase each of their students chromebooks, allowing them to access google classroom and other resources that they may need to continue learning through this pandemic. Students who qualify will be bringing their chromebook home today.
