If you watched social dilemma on Netflix you know exactly why our necks hurt! In this video I talk about how critical the atlanto-axial joint is (it accounts for almost 60% of all your cervical rotationwow!!!) and how it can’t function properly in a dysfunctional neck position.... To get you out of these dysfunctional postures and prevent the development of pinch points/high compression areas, we must first learn how to create length in the cervical spine and then re-learn how to move your head on a properly positioned neck. This exercise is a most if you have a phone. QUICK FACT: Forward head position increases the weight of your head, making it exert about 3 times more force on the structures below, which is what causes your tense and sore muscles because you have to work harder to keep your head up. Drill: Running Rear Foot Elevated Pulls! Pushing off the ground when running is nothing but, wasted energy. If you want to limit injury and improve performance (as a sprinter or long distance runner) you should at least start your run with pulling your foot off the ground. Pulling your foot off the ground vs pushing your foot off the ground leads to more horizontal momentum and thus greater performance and less injury! Here I demonstrate a great drill that can be used to help... runners activate their hamstrings and learn the skill of pulling from the hamstrings! This is also, a great warm-up exercise that can be used in any strength and conditioning program. I am currently Looking for 5 RUNNERS who want to increase running efficiency and prevent injury in 8 WEEKS through individualized exercise programming. This is an experimental program that when launched will be $320.00 a month, but for the experimental group I will be offering it for $256 per month. Program will include: -Individualized Assessment/Video Analysis -4 week running specific skills & drills program PDF -E-book explaining the 3 stages of running and the benefits of each accessory drill -Individualized strength & conditioning program -2 weekly group sessions (Weds 630pm + Sunday 630pm) and access to open gym times If interested let me know by Sunday October 4th, 2020 at Noon. People go through so much pain trying to avoid pain - Neil Strauss Pain is our body telling us that something is wrong! Yet we avoid this signal like the plague! I’ll just mask it with a pill or i’ll work through it! As an example, look no further than a headache! Typically, a headache is caused by tension in the body, but instead of relieving that tension we pop a pill and don’t address the issue. The headache eventually goes away, but that tension never gets relieved. Thi...s turns into more frequent headaches, which in turn leads to more intense headaches, which you get the picture. I had a headache todayand yes I have more knowledge in the area than most, but I knew that my body was trying to tell me something, so instead of popping a pill I stretched and my headache went away. Tip: Next, time you get a headache try stretching out the muscles of your deep front line including the psoas, deep core, adductors and diaphragm. These muscles are the foundation of our body and when out of whack can cause numerous issues. Moral of the story Listen to your body before your body forces you to listen!
