Glad to announce today that the Government of Canada has signed a new 3 year contract, with a 4th year option, for Annapolis Basin Conference Centre to host HMCS Acadia Sea Cadet camp in Cornwallis! Cadets is a wonderful program for youththank you to the ABCC, staff, and the local community for the unwavering commitment.

On June 6, 1944, Canadians and our allies bravely stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. They did so in the defence of freedom. We can never say thank you enough to them and all who served, and continue to serve, our country. Lest we forget // N’oublions jamais.

Great taking part in Telus Kits for Kids on Parliament Hill! Glad to put together some backpacks full of school supplies to send to Yarmouth Central School for kids who need them.

As we approach the 75th anniversary of D-Day on June 6th, we reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those Canadians who were there on Juno Beach and beyond. Here’s a wonderful new Heritage Minute to help us remember:

Glad to welcome Emma Bishop from Round Hill, NS and Michaela Hishon from London, ON to Parliament. They are visiting Ottawa as EF Canada Youth Ambassadors. We had a great chat about their projects for social change. Keep up the excellent work!

Great news for 26 projects supporting seniors in West Nova! Total investment of over $500,000 through the New Horizons program. Glad to have recently joined Zach Churchill, MLA Yarmouth and Councillor Loren Cushing at the Pembroke Community Hall to see their terrific renovation work.

This would be a great day to have lunch at McDonalds in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada.

Cleaning up our coastline and waterways is important to our government. Glad to ask Minister Garneau about Bill C-64 that will help us get the abandoned boats removed from the beach at Sandy Cove.
