Let's talk about the Gut! The connection between a variety of dietary habits and how it influences the gut microbiota (what the gut is made of). Leaky gut, is the term used to describe the gut when it has become compromised. What is this!? A digestive condition that increases the small gaps in the intestinal wall to become more permeable, in which bacteria and toxins are able to leak through the intestinal wall. This may cause widespread inflammation throughout the body, ...activate the immune response which may be related to a variety of other conditions and diseases. Have you wondered what foods your consuming that are either encouraging a healthy gut or creating more harm? You may have experienced already some symptoms that are associated with this: -Chronic diarrhea, constipation, bloating -Fatigue -Headaches - Joint pain -Skin conditions/ irritations -Allergies/ Sensitives - All over inflammation We can talk about what kinds of foods that are in your diet and look at which are contributing to your guts health and those that are putting more stress on it! Customizing meal plans that focus around healing the gut! We can work on reliving those symptoms! For more information, take a look at this reviewed study found on how each food component (fats, carbohydrates, proteins) and dietary habits (various diets) have on gut composition. Hope Everyone had a wonderful long weekend! :D The holidays can be a busy time of year, but the extra time we get off should have dedicated time and space to taking care of ourselves. Maintaining balance and striving for wellness can be achievable, below I have shared a few of my top ways to keep well and take care of yourself. 1. Nurturing Yourself - We can't accomplish anything when our bodies are not optimal. Ensuring adequate sleep, gentle exercise/ movement and manage s...tress. Burnout is a real thing and can effect all areas of our lives. 2. Eating whole, good quality foods- The foods we choose to eat determines how we feel physically and emotionally. Nourishing our bodies with nutrients that will optimize us can create clarity, relief of irritating body symptoms and positively affect our livelihood. 3. Set Your Priorities - Examine your values and what is important to you in this moment. We are all in different stages of life, we need to focus our energies on what we decide is going to create peace and success in our lives. 4. Positive Mindset- This comes with great practice! Believing in ourselves activates our body, our mind and soul. Practicing self love, sending affirmations to yourself everyday encourages motivation and creates the base of self preservation- we need to protect ourselves from the negative energies around us and start sending out positive ones. We cannot create good in our own lives and the lives of others if we are unable to maintain a strong healthy mindset. 5. Build and Maintain Relationships- Whether its a social gathering with friends, an intimate partnership or the connection with family its essential to our mental and emotional wellbeing. The key to this is having POSTIVE relationships. ~~~~~~~ Emily, (Holistic Nutritionist) Hoping this can shed some positive light on your day, the great thing is if you feel a connection to any of these points or have a point you didn't see that is relatable to your life we can talk about this together. Working on not only nutrition but the emotional wellbeing of our lives is equally important.
