LAUNCH A WEBSITE That's what Brian Blatnicki of Business London suggests you do in his article, "Have you heard of a brand style guide?" He says your brand is the core of your business and the longer you wait to brand the more confused the marketplace will be. His solution to branding? Launch a website. "Every business needs one. Period. Why? Studies show that small businesses with a strong digitial presence earn twice as much revenue per employee than those without one. Webs...ites drive sales, create trust and provide a "never-off" marketing presence, which supports the company's growth." He goes on to recommend that "a killer site is one portion of your branding to spend more on." (Photo by bruce mars from Pexels)

WHAT MAKES A GREAT WEBSITE THAT HELPS YOU GROW YOUR BUSINESS? The business owners, practitioners, coaches, and other helping professionals that I work with all want the same thing -- to reach more people so they can help more people. And while social media is great for staying connected and building relationships, it's not always enough... or even appropriate.... Valary A Oleinik summed it up in a great analogy with me this morning. She said social media is like having a business card whereas a website is like having a store front. Sure, having a business card can be a great way to make and nurture a connection, but it's not the same as inviting someone back to your store to actually see what you do and have a better look around at your business. (I LOVE that, Valary! Thank you.) And it's so true. Your website is like your virtual store front. Imagine having a great business card that really grabs someone's attention. It's fun, striking, captures who you are perfectly... it does exactly what it's supposed to... it keeps you front and centre in someone's attention and makes them want to call on you. So they do call on you... they come to your store front. Whether you've listed your address on your business card or not, people will look you up. But what if when they get to your store front your front door is broken? Or there's a layer of dust on everything in your store. Or they can't find their way through the aisles. Or there's nobody there to help them take the next step. What then? This is often what happens when people visit a website... they find cluttered design, poor navigation, broken links, no clear call to action... and nothing that shows them the wonderful support, experience or service that they can expect. So, here's the thing... if you are truly committed to growing your business, to reaching and serving more people in 2019, have a look at your online presence and make sure that your "store front" is everything you want your customers to see and experience.
