Did you know the Ontario Veterinary College is the oldest veterinary college in Canada and the United States? It began in Toronto in 1862, moved to Guelph in 1922, and became a founding college of the University of Guelph in 1964!

Happy Sunday! We hope you're having a great one! Here's a look back at College Royal's 2019 Roboticon! Roboticon is an annual event run in partnership with SOCIS and the School of Computer Science! It's an amazing opportunity for high school students to learn more about the field of Computer Science by designing and building LEGO Mindstorms robots to complete a series of challenges designed by UofG undergraduate students!

We have some paw-some news!! This year, the University of Guelph's College Royal event will be held virtually! Dog Show normally starts in January, with students (undergraduate, graduate, or DVM) using their own dogs or pairing with dogs from the Guelph community, and training weekly with a local obedience trainer in their respective class. This year, we are looking for students to sign up who have their own dog or a dog in their home. Starting in January, there will be w...eekly videos posted explaining the required behaviours from your assigned obedience trainer and Q&A sessions leading up to College Royal weekend (March 20&21). You will submit your obedience trial videos as required for your class level beforehand and there will be live results on the weekend. There is no cost to participate this year (and no experience required), and lots for you and your pups to learn! Registration forms are due this Friday!! Did you know the Dairy Barn was built in 1912? College Royal's Old Mac's New Farm is one of our longest standing traditions!! It's an amazing way to learn all about agriculture without leaving the city, with many animals and interactive displays! What's your favourite barn animal?

For many students of the OAC at the University of Guelph, square dancing is a yearly tradition that they take part in at College Royal! Do you know how to square dance?

Welcome to Royal Country! The cannon is a British naval gun, rumoured to have been used in the War of 1812! Its name is Old Jeremiah and it is located in Branion Plaza, in front of Raithby House and across from the UC. Have you ever painted the cannon? Comment below!
