Feliz día de las velitas / Happy Day of the Little Candles! Officially called the Day of Immaculate Conception, it dates back to 1854 and begins on the sundown of December 7th. Colombia has held onto this tradition, which annually marks the unofficial beginning of the holiday season! Candles and lighting arrangements are lit all over the country in beautiful displays, and many communities see visitors from afar who pass through to admire their work.
