Massive shoutout to both our student body and our Missional Life Committee! Last week, during Missions Emphasis Week, students raised over $2000 for New Heights, a ministry in Lebanon, focused on building relationships with those affected by Beirut's explosion on August 4th. New Heights partners with local churches to bring parcels for children involved. These parcels include trauma resources, biblically-based books, medical supplies and food!

It's February - we honour and celebrate Black history this month! We celebrate the Black community's contributions to faith, the arts, science, culture, and justice! We also realize that we cannot correctly honour Black history without acknowledging the tragic effects and realities of racial injustice.... This month, join us as we learn and grow together. Stay tuned for posts honouring Black historical figures who have impacted members of the CBC Community.

Meet the StuCo team! This is Sam B., VP of Finances: "Hey, my name is Sam, and I am currently a 4th-year student in the intercultural Studies program. I am 22. I am an extrovert and love to be with people almost all the time! Some of my favourite things are travelling, coffee, friends, games, and basically anything outdoors. I am also so grateful for my relationship with Jesus and the impact that he has had on my life. This year I am hoping to continue to invest in relationships with my friends and to grow in my knowledge and understanding of God."

"The genuineness of your faith - being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is tested by fire - may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." 1 Peter 1:7 (NRSV) Knowing that God believes in me, accepts me, accepts my faith is so much more precious than anything else, even gold. And to imagine that through my faith God will be glorified and honored when Christ is revealed, what an incredible promise of hope and affirmation. Anne Andres, Director of Library

Although last year sucked so many reasons, God really helped me grow closer to Him and to those I care about and I can’t wait for Him to be a part of my future life ."

"The true children of God are those who let God's spirit lead them. The spirit we received does not make us slaves again to fear, it makes us children of God." Romans 8:14 "It is a privilege for us to be living out of faith right now! We are meeting face to face for classes and letting God work in our lives. I encourage each student to join in on living each day to the fullest, make each moment count, say hi to a stranger, praise God in Chapel, live in community and reach out when you need a friend, a prayer, a hand or a listening ear; my window is open" Tina Richardson is our Admissions Director as well as our Teacher's Assistant Program!

Some of my favourite things are books, art, and, most importantly, Jesus. I love talking to people and sharing stories about how Jesus has impacted my life and also getting to hear about how he has impacted theirs.
