COMMON GROUND ACCEPTS RECYCLING DONATIONS AT LOCAL GREEN DEPOTS Ready to get rid of that basement full of recycling? Want to support a great cause? Common Ground Community Development is currently seeking donations of beverage containers to its new Xpress Green Depot/Evergreen Recycling account at Green Depot locations across the island.... Common Ground Community Development is a St. John’s-based non-profit organization that promotes, supports and implements environmentally and economically sustainable community development initiatives in this province, with a focus on local food, green technology and environmental restoration. We are currently constructing a demonstration year-round greenhouse and community garden on Mt. Scio Place in Pippy Park! If you would like to contribute your used beverage containers to help this exciting project , just visit any of the Green Depot/Evergreen locations listed in the link below, and drop off your containers for: XPRESS ACCOUNT # 7533594 for COMMON GROUND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. WHAT’S ACCEPTED Green Depot/Evergreen locations accept ready-to-serve beverage containers sold in this province on which a deposit was paid. For a full list of what containers are accepted, visit the link here: http://greendepotnl.ca/whats-accepted/ HOW TO PREPARE YOUR CONTAINERS: Ensure bags are free of garbage. Ensure bottles are not broken. Remove caps. Remove straws. Empty all liquid. For the health and safety of employees, please ensure each bag or box does not exceed 15 lbs. COVID 19 NOTIFICATIONS RE: HOURS OF OPERATION As of Alert Level 3, Green Depot locations will offer both Xpress and cash counter service (a customer waits for their order to be counted followed by their cash payment). To help maintain physical distancing in select locations, specific hours or days may have been identified for cash customers only and for Xpress. In St. John’s, some depots will also continue to offer Xpress service only at this time (Cowan Ave and Torbay Rd).
