Here’s how to make a cleansing face mask that will reduce the appearance of pores: - 70 g bentonite clay - 18 g colloidal oatmeal ... 1. Mix the ingredients together thoroughly. 2. Combine 1 tablespoon of the face mask mixture with 1 or 2 tablespoons of water or hydrosol. 3. Add three drops of rose geranium essential oil to the bowl and mix well (optional). 4. Wash your face, then apply your mask to the desired areas. 5. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes, keeping your mask moist throughout by spraying it with water or hydrosol as needed. 6. Rinse off with fresh water and apply a hydrating cream. Bentonite clay cleanses your skin and makes your pores appear smaller, while colloidal oatmeal softens your skin. Rose geranium essential oil tones your skin. It also helps prevent pores from becoming enlarged and blackheads from forming. Provided that you do not add water or hydrosol, this face mask will keep for at least six months.

We made it! It’s the last day of 2020. It’s been a peculiar year, to say the least. It hasn’t been easy for anyone: not for you, us, businesses, artists, independent contractors, children, and so many others. But in spite of it all, we’re trying to stay focused on the positive. For us, this means celebrating a few achievements: our shop has expanded once again, we now offer online workshops, our wonderful team has continued to grow, and we’re surrounded by amazing custo...mers who create beautiful projects from our products. So we’re ending the year by keeping these good things in mind. We hope that you have some positives to focus on toothat in spite of it all, this year has given you plenty of things that make you smile and fill you with pride. Thank you for being here with us , for the lovely messages you’ve sent, the photos you’ve shared, and all the wonderful experiences we've had together since 2010. We hope you have a great last day of 2020. Let’s greet 2021 with a smile!

We’ve just come up with a lovely scent blend that we want to share with you! You can use it to make a beautiful spirit of the forest candle. Here you go: - 12.5% peppermint essential oil - 50% lavender 40/42 essential oil - 37.5% Atlas cedar essential oil ... All together, these essential oils yield a lovely refreshing bouquet reminiscent of a winter forest, with a herbaceous floral touch. What’s the most recent scent blend you’ve created? What was your inspiration?

Your hair tends to get dry in winter, what with the cold, tuques, scarves, and whatnot! So, let’s make a hair mask to care for your mane: - 1 tablespoon maple syrup - 1 tablespoon colloidal oatmeal - 2 tablespoons aloe gel... - 3 drops ylang-ylang essential oil 1. Mix all the ingredients together. 2. Apply to dry or damp hair. 3. Leave on for at least 20 minutes, covering your hair with a hot towel. 4. Wash with a mild shampoo. 5. Continue with your usual hair care routine. The maple syrup and aloe gel hydrate your hair, the colloidal oatmeal softens it, and the ylang-ylang strengthens it and leaves your locks looking beautiful. This recipe makes one hair mask and should be used immediately.

Have you burned the bottom of your pot after stepping away for a few moments too long while cooking? It happens to us all! But don’t worry, we have just the trick to fix it. Pour a half cup of washing soda into your pot, then fill with boiling water until the bottom is fully covered. Place the lid on the pot and let it sit overnight. The next morning, all you have to do is rinse it then wash as usual. It will be as good as new, or almost!

This time of year can be a little intense And when you’re short on sleep, your complexion often suffers too. Here's how to make a face mask to make it radiant again. - 24 g yellow clay - 10 g aloe gel - 9 g hydrosol of your choosing (we recommend carrot seed)... - 6 g honey - 1 g grapefruit seed extract - 0.5 g vitamin C 1. Mix all the ingredients together. 2. Add a little more clay or hydrosol as needed until your mask has the desired texture. 3. Transfer to a pot and it’s ready! Apply your mask onto clean skin and leave it on for five to ten minutes. Spray it with hydrosol when necessary so it doesn’t dry out. Rinse with fresh water and then apply a hydrating cream. The yellow clay, carrot seed hydrosol, and vitamin C all brighten your complexion, while the aloe gel and honey hydrate your skin. The grapefruit seed extract is the preservative in this homemade face mask, which will keep for about three months.

Let’s chat about myrrh essential oil! People have used this essential oil since antiquity, when it served for embalming, was a component of anointing oils, and was used to flavour wine. Made from a gum, the resulting essential oil is thick, viscous, and dark in colour, which is why we sell it diluted; it’s much easier to use that way. But how can you use this essential oil today, you ask? There are so many options! Myrrh is soothing, purifying, and revitalizing, which makes it perfect for damaged, mature, and blemish-prone skin. It’s particularly recommended for use in serums, face creams, and massage products. There you have it! Now you know everything there is to know about myrrh essential oil. We hope you enjoyed this little summary and that you’re tempted to try it out in your next recipe!

Have you ever wondered who’s behind the beautiful photos we share with you every day? That’s Sean, our photographer, who’s been working with us for three years now. He started at Coop Coco in our orders and packaging department. But not long after, we discovered his talent, and he quickly joined our marketing team! Sean always has a smile on his face and likes to bring in fruit to sharewhich we think is just great! Sean loves to use our essential oils in a diffuser. His favourite combination is a blend of Siberian pine and eucalyptus globulus: It helps clear odours from the air, and it has such a fresh, green scent. What are your favourite diffusion combinations?

Transgender Day of Remembrance is November 20. The whole Coop Coco team wants to rally again for the trans community, which to this day continues to suffer from considerable injustice and violence. We’re pledging to donate a percentage of our profits on this Friday, November 20, 2020, to an organization that helps trans people. As a small organization, our group of choice has decided they wish to remain anonymous at this time, as visibility can come with its own challe...nges. Transgender Day of Remembrance is an important dayunfortunately so, as it commemorates the lives of trans people who have been murdered because of transphobia. The day also more broadly calls our attention to the violence suffered by the trans community. As an inclusive employer, but also simply as human beings, it’s important to us to call attention to this day and to contribute to the cause.

November makes us crave a healthy glow, so we’re preparing this whipped shea butter today! It nourishes and protects your skin, leaving it radiant. - 58 g shea butter (deodorized or regular) - 37 g macadamia oil - 2 g frankincense essential oil (10%)... - 1 g sea buckthorn oil - 1 g summer sand mica (optional) - 1 g vitamin E 1. Melt the shea butter along with the two vegetable oils. 2. Place the mixture in the freezer. You want the mixture to harden but to remain malleable. 3. Beat with an electric mixer. Add the vitamin E, essential oil, and mica. 4. Continue to beat until it reaches the desired texture, which may be more or less light depending on your tastes. 5. Transfer to a container. There you go! You can use this whipped shea butter on your body and your hair. Shea butter and macadamia oil nourish and protect your skin, while the sea buckthorn oil and mica will give it a beautiful hue and sparkle. Frankincense essential oil is revitalizing and cares for dry skin, making it ideal for winter! Vitamin E is an antioxidant that slows the process of rancidification. Your product will keep for at least six months.

What are your favourite essential oils to add to household cleaning products? We really like tea tree essential oil because it is antifungal and helps sanitize surfaces. We also really like fir and pine essential oils, because they neutralize unpleasant odours and remove some contaminants from the air!

We’ve just published an eyeshadow recipe on our blog, and one of its key ingredients is magnesium stearate. Are you familiar with this product? If not, let’s take a look now! Magnesium stearate is a very useful powder in homemade make-up. It improves the adherence of DIY cosmetics to your skin, while also giving skin a velvety feel. You can also use magnesium stearate to thicken creams, as it makes them gentler and more opaque. Have you ever used magnesium stearate before? What did you think?
