Food is still in high demand and low supply. Please consider donating to help us ensure the people of Manchay have regular meals each day. Visit CommunitiesForLife.com/donate today.
Sustainable communities focus on environmental and economic sustainability and urban infrastructure, and that’s where our priorities lie. The students who graduate the gardening program feed their families and sell produce, the team from the soccer program won a competition in Lima (some players have gone to play in the city as well), and many have shared how our programs have changed their lives.
Since Manchay is a desert, gardening is a difficult process. Water, dirt, and fertilizer need to be trucked in, and we try to help with that as much as possible. Please consider donating today to help with that process! Go to CommunitiesforLife.com/donate.
Through unprecedented and difficult times, one thing that is constantly available for us to turn to is prayer. Being able to have God by your side through confusion is reassuring. Conversation with Him provides hope and a light through darkness.
Isolation has stemmed feelings of loneliness in many people. Community is everything to us, and COVID-19 has changed the way we interact. Finding new ways to stay connected with friends and family is so important. What are some unique ways you have been keeping connected?
If you’re new here, we’d love to introduce ourselves! We are Communities for Life, a Canadian registered charity that was co-founded by Jack and Alvina Neufeld in 2004. Our mission is to create sustainable communities in the city of Manchay, Peru by empowering individuals and removing barriers that will help create transformation. We connect with people in the city that have the ability to run gardening programs, coach soccer, teach values and ethics, and be mentors that help guide and encourage personal growth. Our goal is to assist the existing communities into becoming a flourishing home for those who live there.
Because of your generous donations, we’ve been able to provide the people of Manchay with food and necessity packages! Our friends take the time to deliver the bags to individuals while showing love and care to everyone they visit. We are so grateful to you!
