Christmas For Seniors is back again! Come and visit our tree at the north corridor of the Bayview Mall, outside of the Crossroads To Care offices. This year, due to Covid-19, we are taking the risk out of the Christmas for Seniors Program. We are providing our wonderful seniors with a heartwarming gift from you, while ensuring you stay safe. You can sponsor a gift bag by dropping the money off at CCSH -470 Dundas Street East, (Bayview Mall) or call us at 613-969-0130 and make your sponsorship over the phone with credit card, or e-transfer. Help us keep this heartwarming program alive and ensure our seniors have a beautiful Christmas while keeping everyone safe.

Given that about half of all falls happen in the home, it's important to do all that you can to keep your home environment safe. These home modification tips may help prevent a fall: 1. Install hand rails and/or grab bars. 2. Use non-slip mats and treads. 3. Improve lighting. 4. Repair steps and flooring.... 5. Falls are the leading cause of injury for older adults across Canada, accounting for over 81% of all injury-related hospitalizations. Older adults who were hospitalized because of a fall spent approximately three weeks in hospital, three times more than the average hospital stay in Canada among all ages. Half of the falls that led to hospitalizations occurred in the home.
