CGC is so excited to offer the Salt Spring community a helping hand this winter season! #randomactsofchristmas A group of big-hearted folks have come together to offer anyone on Salt Spring extra help with home-based outdoor tasks; wood splitting, stacking, clearing, moving, shifting, setting up, taking down, big and small tasks doable in 1-2 hours. Some happy helpers come with tools, some come with tea and good conversation. Anyone who needs an extra hand this winter season ...are invited to book a team of happy helpers. Community Gospel Chapel (CGC) has been working with the community since 1995 and this season, in particular, want to help in extraordinary ways. Helping Hands are available from December through to mid-January at no cost. Anyone is welcome to ask for a hand and anyone is welcome to join a work party. Simply contact CGC with your details. Jess here, CGC's new office admin. Hi, everyone! I wanted to let you know the office is open. Rain or shine, we're here Monday - Thursday 9am - 1pm. Would love to see you. By now, I've met many of you and have felt very welcomed into CGC, thank you! For those I have yet to meet, I come to CGC newly baptized in late August (grateful for the many of you who came out!). I've been on Salt Spring since 2012, having come from Victoria. For the past decade I have run a design stud...io (graphic design, marketing, etc) and some of you may recognize my name (Jessica Beck) associated with ArtSpring where I sat as Marketing Director for three years. Recently, I was guided to help take CGC to the next level so voila, here I am! When I'm not in the office or studio, I'm on our little/big hobby farm with my sweetheart, Daniel Logan, and our many goats, cats, Myrtle the dog (who you'll meet in the office), chickens, ducks and even two human kids! Today is wednesday (just in case you forgot)... which means we are gathering as a church for worship and prayer. We would love to have you join us, so send us a message to register!! Tonight we are going to be praying for unity together and against the spirit of division and offence!

If you haven’t heard yet, this fall we are gathering around the presence of Jesus in Houses on Sunday Morning. (For now we will call them house churches... but if you have a better name, we are all ears....). We are so excited about how God is going to use this to build unity and love between us, and move us to actively serve our neighbourhoods. We would love for you to be a part of what he wants to do. Why House churches? Here are 3 reasons: 1. It moves us away from consume...rism into moving on the mission of Jesus 2. As we intentionally build relationship we grow Spiritually, & emotionally, 3. This kind of life on life relationship is a great opportunity to grow in our Giftings 4. Weekly Challenge! Unity requires and celebrates diversity. How can you build kingdom unity and help fulfil the prayer of Jesus this week? (Especially with those you don’t agree with?) Go for a coffee together, have a meal together. Take some time to sit down and talk. Open your life and your home and commit to building unity this week!

Weekly Challenge- Jesus commands us to love one another as he has loved us. Paul reminds us in Romans 12:10 to love fellow believers and try to outdo one another in showing Honor. Sometimes those closest to us are the last ones we love... So this week how can you love the Body of Messiah? How can you show honor to one another? Maybe it is giving someone a call, or inviting them for a meal, or bringing them a gift? How can you show love and Honor this week?
