Today is Trans Day of Remembrance. On this day, we remember the lives of all those we lost in the name of transphobic violence over the last year and beyond. W...e also recommit ourselves to working towards creating a world where this violence no longer exists. It's in that spirit that we want to remind folks of the importance of cherishing the trans youth in our lives especially during these uncertain times. Cherish them by: Respecting and using their name and pronouns. In one simple action, this holds the key on the most foundational level to say: I see you, you are worthy, you are valid & I support you. Celebrating their strength. Trans youth are superheroes! Like superheroes, they don’t need to be reminded of adversity. They need to see their resiliency celebrated & mirrored back at them. Surround them with love. Circle them with as many supportive humans as you can. Tell them, each day what a gift they are and that they matter & are loved beyond all measure.
