Last week, my Conservative colleagues blocked the passage of the legislation required to implement the up to $600 COVID-19 top-up payment for persons with disa...bilities proposed by our federal government in the House of Commons, even when it was put forward as a stand-alone bill. While I am deeply disappointed by their decision to delay COVID-19 financial relief for persons with disabilities, I want to assure you that their decision to do so does not mean that persons with disabilities will not receive the financial relief our government has promised them. I am fighting to ensure that the persons with disabilities I represent get the federal financial relief they need to help them get through this incredibly challenging time as soon as humanly possible; this is what I used my time at today's virtual HUMA Committee meeting to do.
