CHILDREN'S RESPITE UPDATE: Yesterday the Government of Ontario announced that all regions of the province will be moving into a Provincewide Shutdown which goes into effect on December 26, 2020 at 12:01am. As we enter into another shutdown this update does not come lightly and we do understand the significant impact this will have on families, particularly given the time of year. Children's Respite will continue at Augusta as planned until December 23rd. If you are unwell or... have been exposed to COVID-19 in the community please cancel your session. Children’s Respite will then close after December 23rd - at least until January 11th - but will likely be extended for the full length of the shutdown. We want to do our part to keep everyone (children & youth, family members and our staff) as safe and healthy as possible.

Our Children's Respite Program was treated to a Christmas drive-thru today at Sarnia Moose Lodge 1046 - Loyal Order of Moose. Santa and his elves were there to hand out presents, snack bags, activity bags and caregiver parcels. Heartfelt thanks to Henry, the Board of Directors and members for thinking of us every year - including a donation cheque for $1000! Our thanks also to Snapshots Foto Booths for the donation of special virtual Christmas photos, and to Carquest Auto Parts and SLICC for their donations to support our activity and caregiver bags. Wishing everyone safe and happy holidays!

A crisp snowy night made for a perfect Christmas celebration last night. Our Adult Respite program had their annual Christmas party; although this year it was a drive thru party. Santa was able to make it, and since he’s used to living in the North Pole, the snow and cold didn’t slow him down. Thanks Santa Also, thank you to London Road Tim Horton’s who donated Timbits and hot chocolate to our families, and Foodland Wyoming who donated food items for our family gift bags.
Beautiful cards made by our friends at CCMF Sarnia!
Thank you to the CLSL Board of Directors who delivered poinsettias to wish everyone the best of the season.

A look back at our 2019 Bowling Banquet. Last year our bowling teams had a great time celebrating Christmas and another successful bowling season. CLSL would like to thank Jackpot City Sarnia who provides funding to various local charities including CLSL. We are one of the local charities that receive funding from Jackpot City each month. This funding is used towards a variety of events and programs. Part of the funding we receive from Jackpot City is used towards events such as our bowling party last year.
Thanks again to One Tooth Sarnia who sold Laurie's Friends mittens this past "First Friday". We were able to sell $800 in mittens on Friday and, due to the high demand, One Tooth will continue to have the mittens available for sale. Please visit One Tooth at 155 Front St N, Sarnia, ON to purchase your mittens before they are sold out!!

The following message is from Murray Quinton, one of our Employment Specialists. Murray served in the Royal Canadian Navy for many years. "Remembrance Week is N...ovember 5th to 11th. Wear a poppy and remember on November 11th at 11:00am to stop for 2 minutes. If you’re at work please do it safely, or at home step to your front door and Remember them. There are other ways you can remember. Call or email a veteran or a serving member and thank them. Perhaps now is a good time to visit the grave of a family member or friend who served. Pray for the safety of our serving members and their families. Don’t forget to reach out to those who suffer the demons of their service, whether war or domestic injuries, PTSD, loneliness, depression, and substance abuse." Remember Them Today, Tomorrow, and Always
