Community of Hearts and Market Fresh have teamed up to spread love and positivity this Valentine's Day season! Boxes of Hearts Artisanal Candies will be available at Market Fresh Guelph right here in Downtown Guelph from Feb 7th-21st! With every $5 donation you will receive a package of these delicious treats and support adults with developmental disabilities to create a life of independence in our community. Boxes of Hearts is a social enterprise program run through Comm...unity of Hearts that gives adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to gain job training and job experience through community-based opportunities. Participants take part in the job application process and work on skills around time-management, following health and safety regulations, team-work, and maintaining professionalism. Participants can also become involved in overseeing production, inventory checking, and communicating with businesses. Along with job experience and training, participants of this program receive a certificate of completion, an honorarium for their time, and a reference for future employment. Huge thank you to Market Fresh Guelph and the entire #Guelph Community of your support of our Boxes of Hearts Program! Through your purchases and donations our participants continue to learn, grow and remain actively engaged in our community.

Today is Day 14 of our 25 Days of Community and we are celebrating with Duncan! If you have visited the Lifelong Learning Centre recently then you may have met this friendly, passionate young man. Duncan welcomes each person who walks through our doors with a beautiful smile and a warm introduction, making everyone feel welcome right away. His hard work and dedication to learning has helped him find long-term employment and build valuable community relationships right here in... Guelph. We have been informed that there is a high likelihood of the City of Guelph moving into the Red/Control Zone by Monday, December 14, 2020. After doing our research, we have been able to determine that this new zone and its restrictions simply mean that Community of Hearts carries on, business as usual - based on the practices implemented from being in the Orange/Restrict Zone.
