Crying is your babies first form of communication. It’s how they alert us to their wants, needs, and emotions. Somewhere along the way, our perspective on crying shifted from viewing it as a conversation to seeing it as a reflection of our parenting. . It is NOT your job to stop your baby’s tears. It is NOT a reflection of your skills as a parent. If your child is upset, they are communicating with you and asking you to be there for them. . I am by no means telling you to let... your baby cry. I am just saying that your responsibility is to support their emotions and address their needs. If they just need to cry, let it happen! Hold them in your arms, stroke their back, reassure them that they are safe! You don’t need to distract, redirect, or hurry them through their feelings. . If you are facing extended periods of crying at bedtime and you aren’t sure what to do or what is going on, look at how you respond to your child during the day. Are they getting enough opportunity to release those feelings? Or are they all stored up for bedtime? . For more information on crying a, head over to the blog! Early Rising I consider any waking before 6 am to be an early rise. Starting your day with the sun (or even before it!) can set you up for a long and painful day. There is not enough coffee to counteract a 5 am wake up (if you are aiming for fully functional that is!). . Did you know that one of the top causes of early rising is too late of a bedtime? Early to bed, early to rise is a myth! Get a nice, consistent, early bedtime (anywhere between 6:00 and 7:30 pm) happening... to avoid this early rising cause. . Check out the blog for the other three top causes!
