Meet Nash! At 8 months old he's displaying all the typical signs of teenage defiance. It's at this age that many dogs are surrendered or rehomed because of their behaviour. It like they forget everything they've ever been taught. We get how exhausting and frustrating this phase is! Stay the course! This passes and on the other side of it is a more mature dog. Another soon to be Complete K9 Care alumnus! This sweet little lady stole our hearts from the get-go. Lexi is here for our 3 week program to address high prey drive and reactivity towards animals. While prey drive is relatively common and normal to a degree, it can become problematic and develop into predatory aggression if left to progress. This is a very possible outcome for Lexi who gets tunnel vision in the presence of perceived prey. Luckily her owner recognized it early in life and is getting her the training needed to work past this compulsion

Can you believe this sweet old girl has a bite history of over 20 people? Mango was brought up from New Mexico by Save Our Scruff Rescue but after multiple trainers and fosters failed to give her the help she required, she came here and stayed. It was her hilariously sassy nature that made us want to keep her and with proper training, she hasn't bit once in the 5 years she's been with us. Even with her back legs getting worse (she was likely hit by a car prior to coming here) she is still her sweet, fiery, silly self. We love our Mango!

Do you walk your dog or is your dog walking you? Loose leash walking is absolutely attainable, even with a strong hyper dog like the one seen here.

Purge came to Complete K9 Care because his owners are wanting to compete in Protection Sport competitions. We started working on building some solid foundations to set him and his owners up for long term success. This video shows some basic obedience we worked on.

When Waylon was brought to Complete K9 Care, he was a high risk human reactive dog. His owners understood that this behaviour could lead to a potentially serious outcome and took steps to get him the kind of training he needed. After assessing Waylon, we realized this reactive behaviour was rooted from fear and insecurity, so training was developed to address and work past it. Now Waylon is able to meet people with a calm and confident mindset. While working on Waylon's reactivity, we also worked on a solid recall that can be done with a variety of distractions, including human. This was a big step for a dog as reactive as Waylon was and we are very proud of his progress. We wish him and his owners all the best on the journey ahead.

When Fin came to Complete K9 Care he had some concerning issues that needed to be addressed. He was uncertain around people, dog reactive, and was food aggressive. Luckily his owners were proactive and booked him in for training before these issues escalated. Fin has come so far with his training and has been able to overcome all of these issues with the proper guidance and training specific to his needs. He is now back home with his loving family and can go on to live ha...ppily and contently in an environment that is safe for everyone. Training is never complete, but his owners now have the right tools and skills necessary to be successful.
