Complete Spine Care will be reopening as of Tuesday, June 2nd! Your safety is the top priority! Many protocols and precautions are now in place to ensure you are safe during your visit. A mask will be worn during your appointment. If you have a mask, you are strongly encouraged to wear yours also.... Please wash your hands as soon as you enter the office. I have plenty of hand sanitizer and soap available! The waiting area will not be in use to avoid any unnecessary patient interaction and to limit the exposure of both patients and staff. All surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected before and after each patient visit! Please arrive at your appointment on time! I will be ensuring appointments are spaced out so that there is only one patient in the office at a time. Only debit and credit card payments will be accepted; no cash payments will be accepted at this time. Additionally, all patients will be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 prior to their visit and immediately when they arrive. If you have any questions or wish to book an appointment, visit the website at www.completespinecareclinic.com, email us at [email protected] or call 705-205-1685. Thank you for your patience and trust during these difficult times. I look forward to seeing you soon!
Have you tried spinal manipulation for your chronic low-back pain? Although chiropractors do much more than just "crack" your back, a recent study in the BMJ looked at spinal manipulation for those with back pain for over 3 months and found that: Spinal manipulation alleviated lower back pain as effectively as exercise, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and painkillers... Spinal manipulation appeared to be more effective at improving short-term function than exercise, NSAIDs, and painkillers. https://www.bmj.com/content/364/bmj.l689
What's the perfect posture? In this study, people with no pain sat in either a slouched, straight, or supported (backrest) position for 20 minutes. None of these postures led to pain nor did they change how the back moves! However, sitting in one position for longer than 20 minutes could increase pain and alter back function. ... It seems the "perfect" posture is one that is constantly changing. Vary your posture and remember to move! https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30380507
Muscle mass decreases 3-8% per decade after age 30 and that rate can nearly double after age 60! Decreased muscle mass means decreased muscle strength which leads to more physical disability Exercise is essential for healthy aging and maintaining muscle! No equipment necessary, just challenge yourself.
Today is the first annual Inspiring Women's Luncheon, put on by the Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce. I hope everyone leaves feeling... inspired! We donated a couple gift baskets to the silent auction. They're filled with goodies to help manage aches and pains!
