I hope all is well for you all .. I haven't posted in a while so i wanted to advise i am still up and running for those who are wondering .. During these hard times living with Covid we all have had to make a lot of changes in our lives trying to adapt to the new "normal" As always i am here to service any PC computer issues you may have .. For those of you who are new here.. Welcome! My business is appointment based so computers will be dropped off at the agreed time and payment can be made thru EMT (preferred) to keep everything contactless ..Once dropped off i will come out to retrieve your computer and it ...will be wiped down so i can proceed with the repair .. You will be contacted once the repairs are complete. Warning: If anyone can not make their initial drop off appointment then you MUST contact me ahead of time . Repeated DNA's (Did not arrive) without letting me know you can't come may result in refusal of further future repairs. For those who have kids and require to have work done prior to returning to school .. I do recommend that you proceed with the repairs sooner rather than later. I have noticed stock is limited in the province for certain things and if you need orders for parts for either repairs or for new builds.. delivery delays are still occurring. Those who need webcams or other components for online learning it is recommended to order now to make sure you have it for when you need it. Hope you all stay safe and we will be seeing you soon!

Avast which also owns AVG has been caught selling its users data which the antivirus had collected .. Since they got caught they are saying now that they will shut down the data collection part .. I keep telling my clients not to use avast or avg .. here is a prime example .. if you can't trust a company then stay away.. they would have kept selling data if they never got caught red handed... some of the data involved was quoted as every search. Beginning of August a ransomware-type malware was spotted online .. when infected.. you will get a locked screen like the one below .. prior to this it will scan for all photos, videos, databases, documents etc and encrypts them with AES encryption .. it leaves each file with an extension .Syrk .. the files are then no longer accessible.. this is when you see that screen below and the Task manager is locked out meaning you can't access it. A readme file is displayed or saved... on your computer with a ransom note advising to pay in bitcoin to an email address .. there is a timer as well and it advises that once the timer reaches zero all the files will be removed from the system . Never pay these crooks .. chances are you will never get your files back and will have to deal with more serious issues .. its best to bring the system to a trained professional and get the system usable again. Sorry Mac users .. I have just found out that a new updated version of the Crossrider malware has made it to the internet world . it redirects your browser to malware sites and infects the system.. changes security settings to allow malware to do things they normally can't do .. if your browser goes to myshop coupon, chumsearch.com searchmine.net and weknow.ac just to name a few then your system is infected and should be looked at asap .. you may also see an app loading up called Mac Cleanup Pro which displays a scan of detected infected items .. or issues wrong with your mac.. below is a image of a redirect to searchmine
