His father was very well travelled between his WW2 years with the British Navy and later as an International Representative for the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association. Introducing Dr Rickards special family... Dr Rickards has five cats. All of them are rescue cats and have very special stories. Earl is almost 29 years old, Osiris -15.5, Sofi came all the way from Colombia and is 8, Nutella - 6, Cocoa is 1.5 and Luci is 1. Luci is the largest of the family and Cocoa the tiniest. Luci and Cocoa are best of friends. Nutella guards Earl when they venture out together and Nutella likes to engage in conversation with Dr Rickards. Here is he preparing one of his favorite desserts - Creme Caramel. Recipe to follow. #stayhome #staysafe #washyourhands #wemissyou #seeyousoon #pgdentist #weloveourpatients Creme Caramel Caramel... 1/2 cup sugar 2 tbsp water Flan 1/4 cup sugar 2 tsp vanilla extract 2 cups milk, hot 3 eggs, lightly beaten Preheat oven to 350F In a saucepan, cook the sugar and water until it is dark golden brown(mahogany). Divide among six 125ml(1/2 cup) capacity ramekins. Allow to cool. Add the sugar and vanilla extract to the hot milk. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. In a bowl, beat the eggs. Whisk in the hot liquid. Pour into the ramekins. Prepare a water bath by laying a towel in the bottom of a large baking dish. Place the ramekins in the dish and fill halfway up with simmering water. Bake for about 40 minutes. The water should never boil. Remove from the oven and water. Cool. Refrigerate. Run the blade of a knife around the ramekins, invert and serve very cold. Enjoy!
