Good news! Confederation Park Childcare Center will be open as of June 15th! We are open for Essential Service workers and those who have returned or will be returning to work in Phase 1,2 and 3! If you are needing childcare please contact the Center!
For what it's worth:
The problem with time-out is that we are assuming that young children have the fully developed brains of an adult and are capable of sitting to thoughtfully ponder their wrongdoings when, in fact, this executive function just hasnt developed well enough yet.
For what its worth:
The life hack to all of your beach sand problems:
"...exposure to music and music instruction accelerates the brain development of young children in the areas responsible for language development, sound, reading skill and speech perception."
Thought some of us could relate!
Dont let a single day go by without telling your kids how you feel...
And this time without the typo! :-)
HAPPY EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION MONTH!! On behalf of SECA, I would like to thank each of you for guiding Saskatchewans children towards a promising future. Ear...ly Childhood Education all starts with you! In the ECE world is it easy to get wrapped up in caring for others and facilitating their learning. Dont forget to take time for yourself, to continue your education, and to have fun while doing it all - especially on May 9th, which has been proclaimed as Early Childhood Educator Day. And for a little Tuesday morning humour:
Our heart aches for everyone involved in this horrific tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been affected

Love this list! "Forget the plastic junk thatll end up broken and forgotten within a day or two -- and fill their stockings with these small gifts that will live beyond the actual physical gift and become a treasured memory."
Have you heard of this before? We brought our son to be tested for ADHD this summer. He was fidgety, found it hard to sit still in school, had low concentratio...n and was very impulsive. In other words, all completely normal symptoms of a 5-year-old boy. But I wanted to be sure so that I could give the best and most appropriate response to help him be his best self. Also, I am a complete overreacter. To my surprise, the therapist explained that he did not have ADHD...[what he had] was a really common issue that is often misdiagnosed as ADHD.
Age is just a number...
This is a perfect sensory book for Christmas! http://lifeovercs.com/my-christmas-five-senses-book-free-p/
"By depriving children of opportunities to play on their own, away from direct adult supervision and control, we are depriving them of opportunities to learn ho...w to take control of their own lives. We may think we are protecting them, but in fact we are diminishing their joy, diminishing their sense of self-control, preventing them from discovering and exploring the endeavors they would most love, and increasing the odds that they will suffer from anxiety, depression, and other disorders." Yes, I love this! "In class, children are allowed to have fun, giggle and daydream from time to time. Finns put into practice the cultural mantras I heard over and over: Let children be children, The work of a child is to play, and Children learn best through play."
