Tuesday Tips Gotta go right now? When you get that URGE (aka Urge Incontinence) here are 5 tips to help retrain your bladder and pelvic floor muscles to go when YOU want to go. BE THE BOSS OF YOUR BLADDER ... 1. Stop activity (removes or lessens the bladder urgency trigger) 2. Deep breathing (helps to quiet the urge) 3. Squeeze your pelvic floor muscles (sends the message to the actual bladder to hold on longer) 4. Perineal pressure (use your hand or sit on something like a rolled-up towel or tennis ball) 5. Certain beverages like coffee, alcohol and acidic fruit juices (orange, grapefruit, tomato) can irritate your bladder, increasing bladder urgency and frequency (and you don’t want that). ... Tuesday Tips Let's just jump right into it, shall we? Does it feel like it takes forever to poop? It might be due to overactive pelvic floor muscles not letting go. Here are some tips to help: Saying GRRRR helps the muscles to relax, avoid breath holding & straining...
