2nd Screen: A Love Story Last week I decided that it was time to revamp my home office. I bought a great desk at Ikea (really a desktop and legs) as well as a new chair. I also swung by the Samtack Inc warehouse sale (highly recommended for electronics and appliances) and picked up a 28 inch TV at a great price. My plan was to use the TV as a second screen with my laptop. I got home, put my laptop into 'extend' mode, and started playing around with the various ways I could u...se my new device. Some of the applications I've found include: - Making applications like email available at all times - Keeping social media feeds open - Keeping live tv (Bloomberg and CNN in my case) running all day - Opening up documents that I'm referencing in an email - Throwing up documents which I'm discussing with someone in person I've been thrilled with my 2nd screen, and feel that I'm only scratching the surface of what I will eventually be able to do with it. How do you use your 2nd screen? p.s. I highly recommend the "fullscreen anything" (from tabcinema) google chrome extension which allows you to maximize a video screen withing a predefined browser window. It works great!
