This post is for my white followers. Our black communities are grieving and outraged. It is our job to see them, hear them, grieve with them, and share in their outrage. It is our responsibility to align ourselves with their leadership and support them in peaceful protest. If you can not understand why they are hurting, imagine for a second that your father, mother, or child was murdered by a police officer for no ther reason than being white. It is that simple. If you do n...ot believe that people are killed because of the colour of their skin, your eyes are not open. If this post makes you angry, ask yourself why and dig in to that. What does it cost you for that to be true? Why does it threaten you? What pain does it touch in your own experience? Does it make you feel like your hardships are forgotten or invisible? This is a defining moment in our history and if you are apathetic or silent you are hiding in your white privilege. If you disagree with me I'm calling you out right now to explain why.
