In addition to the Canuck Trail Weekend, I am pleased to share our new timed series for Sept 18, Oct 2 and Oct 16 in conjunction with the Grand River Conservation Authority. This new series consist of a 2, 4 and 6 hour trail challenge. CTC 2021 registration is now open on Race Roster. All 2020 participants have been deferred. This weekend I will be attempting a 42 km run at Huron Natural Area as part of Clay Williams Valentines 12 Hour Fatazz Fun Run/Walk. I will be starting at 5 am.... I will also be hosting an aid station providing chicken noodle soup and water between 12 and 2 pm. I am sad to say that over the years, I have managed to count at least 42 people who I know who have struggled with mental illness. These folks are coworkers, family members, close friends, and in some cases TV actors I have come to adore. I will be donating $1.00 for every km completed and would like to put this challenge out to all of my friends who plan on attending this event. If the weather forecast holds up for this Saturday, we may have ideal conditions for running on the hard packed beautiful snow trails. As a safety precaution, I always recommend some shoe traction for the run/walk. For the past five years, Clay Williams has organized the Canal Pursuit for Mental Health, and he and the relay team have carried a Canadian Flag with them. He has asked people who know someone or are themselves struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar, or any mood disorder to sign the flag, and the flag will be carried to Ottawa on the Canal Pursuit as a symbol that they don’t have to carry their burdens alone. Clay will be carrying the flag during the Valentine’s Fatazz Run, and would be happy to let you help carry it for a lap or two. Just 6 days remain til the first rate increase for the 5th Annual Conquer the Canuck Marathon Ultra Trail Weekend. Less then 3 weeks remain in the 1st Annual Ultra Legends 3 hour fun run at Shades Mills Conservation in Cambridge. This event will also be hosting the Ontario Ultra and Trail Series Banquet for 2019 and over 40 plaques to be awarded. Hi all, Hope you all had a great summer. Conquer the Canuck is officially live for our 2020 race scheduled for Saturday June 13th and Sunday June 14th.... We have made a few changes with the schedule, event caps and have added a new event called the 67.195 km Classic Canuck two day staged event, where runners will complete a 25 km on Saturday and return on Sunday to complete the 42.195 km Marathon distance. This new event will replace the 12 hour event and compliment our theme of Conquer the Canuck Marathon Ultra Trail Weekend. www.conquerthecanuck.ca

Hi all, Hope that you all had a great summer and continue to for the next 3 weeks that remain! I have had a busy summer with work , home projects and trying to keep up with my training in spite of a minor injury with a pulled muscle in the lower back from my last race, at Limber lost. I am feeling much better now and back on track for the next 25 km challenge at Sticks N’ Stones in October.... A few have asked about the date for Conquer the Canuck for 2020 and I can confirm that it will be on Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14. Our website will be updated in the next few weeks. I would also like to announce that we will be hosting the 1st annual Ultra legends Fun Run on Saturday November 30 at Shades Mills Conservation. It will be run on a 5.5 km trail loop. This event is also being used to host the OUTRace banquet for winners in the trail and ultra series. Registration for this event is open to all runners and limited to 100.
